have you checked vacuum advance device on distributor
SOURCE: 1994 explorer v6 starts fine ,takes off fine if I
it looks to be throttle position sensor.. is your check engine on?
could be clogged fuel filter or low fuel pressure due to a weak pump or fuel pressure regulator.

First, your CEL does work, correct? If so, it may be a fuel delivery/pressure problem. It could be that your fuel system is clogged or that your pump is not switching to high speed under demand/accelloration. When at idle your fuel pump is at slow speed. Whenever there is a demand for high fuel pressure, thecircuit opening relay closes(in small black box by ECU) and allows the pump to run at high speed. It's a possibility this relay is not energizing. The only way to check is to verify you have power across terminals 1 and 2 and that the relay does in fact close. Fuel pressure should be 43 psi and the only way to manually check is to install a guage on the regulator using adaptors. Another aspect, even though you're not throwing a misfire code, you could have bad spark ie plug wiring is tracking, coil packs grounding out. This is the only thing I can think of at the moment that wouldn't give you a CEL, but give you those problems. You may want to check A/F ratios and see if its running very lean during accelloration.
