Remove drive shaft. Position transmission jack under transmission and remove the linkage, the wiring and remove the bolts from the bell housing. Jack slightly to take pressure off tranny mounts and then remove the mount bolts. Your transmission is now being held in place by the torque converter and the jack. Make sure the transmission is secured to the Jack and then slide toward the rear of the truck, (eaisier said than done). You may have to wiggle the tranny to get off the shaft that goes into the torque converter....you may even have to adjust the jack up and down, (very slightly) so it won't be in a bind. When the tranny clears the engine output shaft, lower the jack and your transmission is now out.

SOURCE: I need a free manual , to rebuild a automatic
Rebuilding automatic transmissions properly requires a lot of time, skill, training and experience to get it right. A beginner will have little success in making a lasting repair. I have known of experienced professionals fail to fix them properly. An exchange transmission would be the best option, although more expensive, as you should get a warranty and will be out of action for only a short time.
