it's located inside the bottom of the transmission pan You have to remove the pan to get at it and replace it.

Given the age and possible mileage on the unit, you will be money ahead if you order a rebuilt one that has a warranty. There are too many items that need to be inspected and replaced if worn on that transmission. There are seals, bushings, clutches, orings, etc.

It is inside the transmission under the belly pan mounted to the valve body. You just remove the transmission pan (not the transmission for heavens sake) and replace the shift solenoid pack.

Well I guess you have figured out there is no dipstick. There are two plugs in the rear transmission pan. The bottom plug is for draining and the upper plug is for for filling and checking. Trans must be in park with the engine running and fluid should stream from hole when full.

Automatics have to be filled from the upper plug on the bottom of transmission pan. Pumped in when hot.

You are going to need to purchase the computer that came with the transmission you are putting into the vehicle. A manual transmission computer is not programmed to monitor the same stuff as an automatic transmission. It would be the equivalent of using microsoft word the fix a digital photograph. The program is just not up to the job... I would just buy the whole wiring harness and computer. Then you know it will work. Good luck.

Yours is leaking from the round side servo cover. A quick fix for someone that knows the correct way to put them in. It is held in by a snap ring and a big spring is underneath it pushing it out. So it must be pressed down to remove and replace the snap ring. A common problem for these vehicles. They will drip on the edge of the pan and make it look like it is leaking.

It's low on transmission fluid! It has to be checked and pumped in from the bottom of pan. Check for leaks too.

you need to crawl under it and look at the pan, there is two plugs on it. the lower one is for draining, and the one that sits up in a recess is how you check it. with it running and at operating temp, remove the check plug and fluid should drip out, if not you need to pump it in untill it does......
