Malfunctioning heating system, 2004 Chevy Silv

Hey all. I wrote in awhile ago about a problem I was having with my 2004 Chevy Silvarado 1500 following a battery replacement. I found I did not describe the symptoms correctly. After replacing a bad battery, the heating-a/c puts out nothing but super-hot air on the driver's side, while does the 'right thing' on the passenger's side.
Could a spike have damaged a sensor for my damper or stepper motor? How hard is this to fix?
Please help! Thanks.

If you find out. Let me know. I have the same vehicle, same problem. I did take the radio out of the dash but had to disconnect -neg bat. cable. When I hooked it back the AC blew hot air only. [email protected]

Have a helper with you; have the helper crawl under the truck under the fuel tank. Turn the key to RUN and have the helper check for any sounds coming from the tank. If there are no sounds, then something is knocking the pumps out.

2004 Chev Silv. Heater stuck on max hot after batt replacement

Until you locate the source of problem cut off the flow of coolant to heater radiator. If there is an electrically controlled valve that feeds the core, that could be the issue with it stuck in the open position.

No high blower on 1995 chevy 1500 silv.

BLOWER FOR HEAT AND A/C IS NOT WORKING ON HIGH SPEED? THEN IT COULD VERY WELL BE THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FOUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR DUCT NEAR THE BLOWER MOTOR. IT SHOULD HAVE TWO SCREWS HOLDING IT INTO THE DUCT. A SIMPLE FIX FOR UNDER 50 BUCKS FOR THE PART. HOPE THIS IS WHAT YOU WERE REFERRING TO. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. BEST OF LUCK

Intermittant hot/cold air from heater

Had the same problem with my Mazda6 awhile back. Took it to the dealer and they found the radiator wasn't holding pressure. They replaced the whole radiator under warranty (WHEW!). Not sure how to check for that kind of thing, but it's a start.
