Sounds like a vacuum leak has developed in the intake system. While the engine is whistling, using a spray bottle with water and on the mist setting, spray along the intake manifold area and vacuum hoses to locate a possible leak.
You might check the pulleys that the serpentine belt runs on. Make sure all are free wheeling and not loose or rough or make noise. You would need to remove the belt to check them.
Plural husbands? Check each wheel by jacking up that corner of the car and spin each wheel by hand. If one of more of the wheels makes this sound, there may be an incorrectly installed pad in the brake assembly which could be dragging on the rotor. Make sure that each caliper will retract properly. Turbo vehicles often sound like they are whistling when the turbo spools up because it is sucking in air at a high rate and it makes a bit of a whistling sound. Generally not a problem unless it is a different whistling that you are referring to.
hi ,,two things 1- water pump. but most likely check your pulleys they will make that high pitch noise one of them fixing to go bad and what will happen the belt will jam and jump lose and will lose all power ,,cause you have one belt for alt and the water pump mostly its the pulley right under the alt ,,hope this will help ....Joe
