I have a 2005 2500 dodge truck with 70000 miles 2 years ago I had a bad death wobble on a trip south as the trip lasted it got more persistant. when I got home called dodge they asaid change the stering dampner .I did this and it did not stop the shake. they brought it in and changed what they said to be about 2600 dollars in front end parts no explanation on what was the trouble .here we are about 2 years later and it has come back ,this time bout 70 miles an hr. with a camper on the back .this could have been a real problem as i had my hands full with this shake I would apreciate any help I can get on this as dodge just seems to want to change parts

Jack up the truck and set it on jack stands in the front with the tires off the ground.
Now, with the engine off have someone you know thats big and strong grab one of the front tires and work it back ond forth hard as they can (left turn - right turn, or like side to side) You lay down and watch the front steering parts for play. If any thing looks loose replace it with new.
Also while jacked up, you can use a long stiff pipe and slide it under each tire and pry up to see if you have any up/down play. You dont want any play.
Thats what I would do.

I have a 2004 with the same problem. It is actually a defect on dodges behave. The steering box flexes on the frame when you hit a bump. Bd diesel puts out a steering box brace and a new track bar with the right geometry to fix it. I had replaced everything under my front end before i saw the article in off road adventures magazine. I contacted dodge and asked why this was not a safety recall. They said they no nothing about it and refused to help me. I called the National Highway Transportation Safety Board and filed a complaint. I suggest you do the same and anyone else who reads this.
