Our 2007 AWD Edge has 25000 miles on it. We brought it in for a routine service. The dealership called and said our rear tires are extremely worn down on the inside. He said this is due to lack of rotation every 500 miles or an alignment issue. the damn thing is a grocery getter, we don't use it for anything- no towing, off-roading, etc. Does this sound legit?

Every 500 miles, no, if you meant 5000 then yes, but if the inside is extremely worn down that sounds more like an alignment issue. If it was just a rotation issue, then the front tires would most likely be the ones worn down the most, but they should still be evenly worn across the tread. Also, i wouldnt take it to the dealership unless you just want to spend more than you have to, ask around, find a reputable shop, anything but the dealerships.

2007 Kia Spectra EX with 39000 miles. Sometimes when I apply brakes I hear a scrubbing sound. My car was in for routine service just three weeks ago and they said everyting was fine, but it wasn't making...

mine is in the right rear brake. i first found it in 2007, when my car was in moisture, like after rain. you could hear it and feel it, you knew exactly where the problem was.i had my oil changed by NTB and had a free 22 point check, they found the problem, with little effort. the kia dealership never found a problem. i became disappointed after leaving my car with them. i was so sure they'd find the problem and fix it under warranty. my spectra had two other problems too. trunk would unlock without any effort from me. the park lights would come on with out my help. it took two years to have my lights fixed, but my trunk is still an issue after 4 years.

i was told call a service writer when my trunk opens. and i said then what, are you going to fix it then. i just can't leave my car with you for days.

Last night while driving on the interstate my headlights went out ... I drove to the next exit on the shoulder with the hazards on ... we pulled off to check on them and they came back on again so we...

I will do some research on the headlight problem. An awd system should not bind in a turn like a 4wd does on dry pavement, because the awd has a limited slip differential. And any kind of noise coming from the rearend is NOT normal. You should report the dealership employee that told you this to the factory regional representative. It borders on gross negligence.

How often do I change the oil in my new Lincoln MKX ...every 2000 km or every 5000 km?

The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
