S10 chevy pickup died, replaced fuel pump, still will not start, fuel pump runs when connected directly to battery. Test light on connector shows power on gray wire, but when the connector is back on fuel pump nothing happens. Any ideas?
The pump is OK when connecting the solenoid directly to positive pole on battery, so the ground wire must be ok!The pump is OK when connecting the solenoid directly to positive pole on battery, so the ground wire must be ok!
The problem on this VW transporter 1999 mod seems to be somewhere between the ignition key sw inside the car and the solenoid on the fuel pump. The problem on this VW transporter 1999 mod seems to be somewhere between the ignition key sw inside the car and the solenoid on the fuel pump.

Is the security light flashn after it dies?prob Pass lock. Google s10 pass lock...... Check your pump by clamping return fuel line an if it helps your fuel presssure low. May needa pump.
If I'm not mistaken it takes more pressure to crank than to run.
Yes the gray wire goes from the relay to the pump, and the black wire grounds the pump. I should tell you running the tank dry kills the pump. The pump uses liquid gasoline to cool and lube the pump. Running low on gas makes the pump work harder and hotter. Never run an electric pump below 1/4 tank of gas. While you have the pump out you should fix the gauge too if you can.
No, no reset for an S10. There would be a fuel pump relay under the hood in the fuse/relay block. And also a 10 or 15 amp fuse for the pump at this junction block as well.
Check the fuse, then find the tank electrical connector, pull it apart and find the gray wire -the fuel pump wire. Clip a test light lead to ground then put the tester probe into the gray wire terminal on the harness side of connector. Now have a helper turn the key to start and crank the engine over. The test light should light up if your electrical circuit is working. Before you drop the tank to investigate the fuel pump (it probably needs replacing), check if the ground for the pump is alright. Maybe when you hit the curb, you jarred loose the ground connection.
98 chev pickup s10 put gas in the gas tank drove it about 2days and the check engen light came on had it check mech said it was the gas cap replace the gas cap the light back on now what help
Fuel pressure regulator. It regulates the fuel pressure you receive going to the injectors. All the injectors would not be bad, so you have to take a step back to the next component, which should be the regulator.
Fuel injected or carb? Make sure fuel line itself is clear. Some pumps are designed to self regulate (carb systems) some continually pump and a psi regulator sends back the excess fuel back to the tank (fuel inj systems) If the line is obstructed then pump can't deliver fuel fulltime.
If you think pump is not on consistent, try running a dedicated wire through a switch directly to the pump. If it works then you are looking for an electrical fault going to pump. Good luck.
your power starts at the brake light fuse, check with a test light, then proceed to stop light switch on brake pedal under dash, one wire will be hot when when you check it with your test light, the other won't be until you press down the brake pedal then the power flows through to the second wire,if no power to second wire replace switch,if you have power remove tail light bulbs and check for power in side socket.
the other wire that is "dead" is the ground wire for the fuel pump. try cutting that wire after the connector towards the pump, and running it to a good clean ground.
