Humming sound in my 1998 Plymouth Neon

I just bought my car a week ago. It has been babied all it's life. The previous owner has maintained it very well and it has only got 130km's on it. I noticed on the way to work that it has a humming sound. It seems to only start after I have driven the car for a little bit. I am the second female owner and would like to know if someone could please help me out as to what it might be so that I don't get ripped off at a Mechanics Shop. It has had a new head gasket in 2005 and a new timing belt as well. Puzzled in Alberta Canada

Cheers, Cindy

when you have been driving and the vehicle is at operating temperature , then lift the bonnet and check to see if the coolant fan is still running after you turn the engine off. Some systems allow the fan to run for up to 10 minutes after shut down

1998 Plymouth Breeze, heater does not blow warm air

Check your coolant level. Replace your thermostat and flush coolant system. If you bought used and it never has worked, make sure that the heater core has not been bypassed. If it has, it will probably have to be replaced(was probably leaking on previous owner)

Won't start

you might think about checking the relay/fuse for the ignition/starter, if you look in the owners manual that will tell you exactly which ones to look at. if you have done that then start looking for a wire that was missed upon reassemble of the starter. 10-12 gauge signal wire may not be hooked up or it might be broken up the wire some where. check it out and let me know if i can try and help you anymore.
