I have an '89 camry w/ about 115,000 miles on it. I have replaced the radiator, axel rod and a few belts + I gave it a tune up. But almost everytime I start it it makes this loud high-pitch screeching sound (it makes the exact same sound like when the car is already started and you go to turn the key by accident) but this morning I went to start it and it wouldnt turn over. The lights and everything came on but every time I turned the key it made a clicking noise. I tried a few times and even pumped the gas before starting it. I went back to give it another try about 20 mins later. I pumped the gas and it started this time but it made a weird clanking sound so I gassed it again-it sounded better but all of this white smoke came out. + The car was ice cold-what could it be please help!

Make sure you get a new solenoid with the starter. It may not hurt to have the alternator and water pumped checked since you said you had a squealing noise. This is usually indicative of a bad bearing on one of the components.

Depends on what you have done so far.
The transmission fluid should have been replaced, the timing belt and water pump, spark plugs, serpentine belt, radiator hoses, and fuel filter should have been replaced at 75,000 miles or before.
There should be a maintenance schedule in the back of your owners manual with some guides.

94 Camry steering hard to turn like it has no power steering. It has the rack replaced and steering knuckle replaced
Does the power steering have fluid in it. Is the belt on the pump. With it running take the cap off of the pump and see if fluid is moving around. If u feel the steering knucle is to tight u can also take the tie rod off and see if it turns free. Also go back to who fixed it and say its not right, Make it right. Most garages give 12 month or 12.000 mile warranty.

I had my timing belt replaced at 94,515 miles. Now I have about 115,000 miles and after having an inspection done on my car recently the mechanic told me i needed a new one already. Is this possible?
A timing belt should be good for between 60,000 and 100,000 miles. If there has been some kind of damage to the belt, then you would need a new belt and what ever caused the damage replaced. He is either padding the bill, trying to create business, or there should be two things wrong (something caused damage to the belt it needs to be fixed to). If you replaced the belt your self , take off the cover and inspect it. If you had a different mechanic replace the belt , get his opinion or at any rate get an opinion from a different source. You should not have to replace a belt after 21,000 miles.

At what milage should the radiator be flushed and
is there any white/grey residue in your radiator ? if not, it doesn't need to be flushed. change transmission oil and filter every 30,000 miles under normal usage, belts should be inspected at least once a year, a tune-up every fall is also recommended

I have a 2005 toyota avalon and had an engine code come up po356 which is cylinder f ing coil,replaced coil and still have same problem,115,000 miles on car and has never been tuned up.
Time for a tune up. At best it should have been done at 100,000. Replace the plugs and wires see if this solves the problem. For guidance in doing that I recommend the Haynes repair manual on the vehicle. It is available on line or at most Auto Parts stores.

The shocks and struts should be replaced every 80,000 miles unless there are sign's of fluid leaks. Monroe shocks and struts are one of the more popular Brand names out there. Good luck and shop around and remember, you get what you pay for so spending a few more dollars is worth 80,000 miles of use.

92 Camry, have to start several times before engine turns on, onl
weak fuel pump, clogged injectors, air or coolant temp sensors out of specs. Timing belt was put on wrong. Timing is off. Map sensor out of specs. You do have a light on. Fixing why the light is on may fix your problem.

Semi loud vibrating sound when car is idle, does this mean a tune up or timing belt problem? 1996 Camry
Not sure of the mileage requirement for a timing belt change, but the problem could be multiple things, many of which a tune up would find & repair:
Plugs & Plug wires
fuel filter
air filter
Any of the emissions systems

If fuel filter or air filter are due for replacement, can start there relatively cheap.

How many miles total on vehicle? How many miles since any major work or tuneup? Has timing belt ever been changed & if so, when?

Does sound go away totally when driving? Try driving along side a wall, where the sound can bounce back at you, with windows open, radio & A/C off, to see if you hear anything. Wondering about exhaust system leaks.

Need more information to determine more likely causes.
