My 1997 achieva will not turn over - 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva

    no clicking. I was driving on the highway and it just quit. ignition light comes on but when you turn the key nothing happens. I was guessing it mite be the ignition but not sure.

Might be in theft mode.. is security light flashing on instrument cluster....alot of time the chip on the key gets worn down....setting theft mode to invalid

    if your problem is that when you turn the key to the crank position,,, engine does not turn over....could be a fuse link at the starter.. or theft shut down... what is the theft light doing with key of.??

1997 olds achieva...replaced the ignition switch now it starts but immediately shuts down. I can repeat this by turning the key off and re-cranking. just won't keep running??
Could be any of the following:
New switch it is defective
You did not get all the wires back on
A wire broke while you were changing out the switch
Bad fuse
Loose connecting in the circuitry (hardest one to solve)

1998 olds were is the light relay found
Your day time running lamp relay is located in the fuse box under the hood. Remove the fuse box cover and on the bottom of the cover you will see a fuse and relay diagram.
