Between 60 and 70 mph when i accelerate the front end shakes (sometimes sevearly). This can be felt through the steering wheel and by passengers. once above about 75mph the shaking almost dissapears.
also the shaking only occurs while accelerating. If i let off the gas and coast the shaking stops imediatlyalso the shaking only occurs while accelerating. If i let off the gas and coast the shaking stops imediatly

The new info you have given would rule out the tires as the problem. With this new info "also the shaking only occurs while accelerating. If i let off the gas and coast the shaking stops imediatly", I would suspect the some of the front end suspension part being out worn out and loose. A alignment shop would be able to proper tests for worn out parts. I would also have them check the motor mounts. The new info you have given would rule out the tires as the problem. Your tires may be unbalanced. Any difference in tire weight distribution around it's circumference, icreases as driving speed increases due to centrifugal force... that's why the problem may not be noticed at slower speeds. This condition may be felt on the steering wheel.
Another possible cause is warped brake disks... it's possible this condition may be felt on both; steering wheel and brake pedal.
if your tires are ballanced then you need tie rod ends or ball joints jack up one wheel and **** tire left and right and see where the play is coming from even if you can replace the worn parts you will still have to get a front end allignment
try the simple solution first put your front tires on back and back tires on front. check your air pressure then take it for a drive and see if any thing has changed. if so you probably have a badly worn tire. if no change have someone move the steering wheel back and forth wyle you are under the fornt of the car (dont forget to chalk the wheels) and see if any of your steering components are loose/moving. if nothing is loose and your tires are good try to bounce the front end. if you can really get the front of the car going up and down pretty easy you havce bad struts/shocks.
It is possible that one of your new tires has what is called a slipped belt which is basically a faulty tire.
If they were able to successfully perform the front end alignment you can almost be sure that all of your ball joints, tie rod ends etc are ok as these really don't attribute to "shimmying" felt in the steering wheel.
The are several common causes of shaking felt in the steering wheel:
1. Out of balance wheel/tire combo
2. Slipped belt in a tire
3. Bent wheel
Your shop should be able to pinpoint the cause easily.
Take your car back to the shop that replaced your tires and tell them what you are experiencing. They can check your new tires again to make sure the belt on them did not slip.
Have you rotated the tyres?have the shock aborbers been checked.Warped drums would show up in the wear pattern left inside the drum and on the shoes. You could take a wheel off spin the brake drum and with a felt pen slowly let the pens tip touch the edge of brake drum.hold pen in the same place without moving it and it will show up high and low sections if any.Are all the bushes(suspension in a servicable condition?Sounds like anti sway or stabiliser bushes may need looking at as your problem is when you accelerate, not so much pressure on the bushes, sometimes vibates and more vibration when you brake when its under a higher amount of stress.Could be a bent rim Could be need wheels balanced.Have you correctly adjusted your brake shoes?Therse a slot in the back of the wheel hub assembly
The tire's are almost new and have been balanced twice with no change
