1994 dodge intrepid 3.3l stalls while driving w/o warning wont start for 10 -30 min. can hear fuel pump priming even when it wont start replaced fuel filter and crank sensor

98 and 99 intrepid was manufactured with weak fuel pumps causing them to vapor lock try pouring cool water on the fuel rails on the intake to calm vapored gas then try to start it. Even the temp gauge at half way mark is probably still low on coolant causing engine to be warmer than normal causing the vapor lock to fix this problem replace the fuel pump with a 2000 or newer intrepid fuel pump that carries a little higher psi to prevent vapor lock from reoccurring this pump is compatible with your 98 it will plug right in

Fuel Pump -- you have been working on that
as a possible cause?

Did you check for fuel pressure on the line from the tank while you had the filter off? Do you hear your fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? First I would listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the key to the run position (not starting the engine) May have to get a helper and listen at the gas filler neck with the cap off. If you dont hear your fuel pump, check your fuses and relays. If the relay clicks when your helper turns the key on ( put your finger on the relay and ear down close to feel/hear the relay actuate)., and fuse is good, yet you do not hear the pump prime, I would say your fuel pump is shot.

If it is a diesel,check for fuel pressure coming off the direct drive pump hose while cranking the motor.

Check if the fan turns on a few minutes after a cold start. It may be a problem with the fuse or the relay. Check if you loose coolant, there may be a leak somewhere, the hose, bad fuel pump, radiator leaks or a bad radiator cap.

Change gas filter than get the fuel pump pressure tested to see if its holding ,if it fails replace the pump

Stalling/wait then starts problem sounds like the crank sensor is going bad. It should be easy for a shop to check. Electrical problems need diagnosis at a shop that specializes in auto electric.
