94 chevy 1500, 350 engine. putters after start

94 chevy 1500, 350 engine. putters after start up, and while braking, feels like its going to stall, and sometimes does. AFter it gets warm, it idles at like 200 rpms. No check engine light. Truck did sit for 2 years, and was told new plugs, wires, distributor/cap. Also, dipstick is slightly rusty, so possible water damage?

93 blazer stalls when brakes applied or when you put it in gear

when you put it in gear, does it stall violently or does it putter out? does the motor have power when you step on the gas, or does it always feel like you're going uphill? how many miles are on it and have you had any major motor work done? there are a good number of things that could be the problem and details are necessary to help pinpoint the system at fault.

Problems accelerating

the engine tickover is too slow when the engine is cold its running on cold start, ie:choke,, after it warms up the engine slows down this is what is causing it to stall in gear,, get some one to hold the brakes hard on and with the engine running in gear ajust the tick over till its reving at 750 - 850 rpm the revs will go up a bit when its out of gear,, before you pick a gear to go into push the foot brake down to stop the car lurching,,,

My 94 grand prix se stalled on me today and wont start. just before it stalled the engine was puttering and hesitating. Also the oil light and oil pressure light came on but there was plenty of oil in the...

This could be as simple as being out of fuel. This is why I'd check this first:

When an engine is about to stall, the oil light may flicker on and off or stay on due to the engine not running fast enough to supply sufficient oil to the case for sensor detection.

Since this opens up a whole world of possibilities ranging from simply being out of fuel to a faulty in-tank pump not supplying fuel to the EFI, I'd advise you to have the car taken in for a professional diagnostic.

Furthermore, since this very well could also be an internal engine issue (i.e. bad oil pump that's caused poor compression over time due to excessive wear of the rings and cylinder walls), I'd not attempt to run it until a diagnostic can be done. Better safe than broke.

94 chevy 1500 will start for about 30 mins. and then just stop

Does it blow black smoke when it's hot? if so, Replace the cold start sensor. If not check to make sure your cats aren't plugged, (they will get red hot). If they are plugged the engine will loose power and stall.

94 spirit stall when I put on the brake

Do the procedure below, it should cure the problem
Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Hesitation , skipping, engine cuts out when accelerating

Im having the same issue I believe. I have a 94\' Chevy 1500 and when i accelerate it will jerk like the gas has cut out but it wont stall. It just jerks and slows me down. It only seems to do it when going up a hill. I feel like it could be the fuel pump or possibly some intake gaskets?
