Hi, just a random idea: are all the cables to the plugs okay? If there is no ignition, the problem could be there.

2006 dodge dakota - everything lights up but starter wont engage to start engine.

Could be the immobiliser isn't disarming...

I suggest you try to energise the starter solenoid manually and if the engine cranks possible faults are immobiliser, ignition/starter switch, relay, connections, wiring.

If the engine doesn't crank the fault is the starter or solenoid or connections to the battery or starter.

My 1993 VW Golf, will not turn over at all.

run fault codes and check for cam/crank position sensor. Check that the cam shaft is turning ( broken timing belt0 After changing the battery you should use a code reader to reset the CPU as the program may be corrupted and the Immobiliser is stopping it from starting.

1996 golf gti wont fire up

what about checking the ignition or the fuel pump relay? i wouldnt try touching the positive and negative leads together even after five minutes as the ciruit has capacitors and inductors in them and this could cause damage to the electronics.if there's no fuel and no spark it sounds like a common fault. try disconnecting your immobiliser behind the glove box (most of the mk3's starts with them disconnected)
