This sounds like something is broken. When the motor stops, there is a gear that is jambed. So, if you are moving, you need to take it apart and look for broken cables or damaged gears.

lol yes sir there is a bushing that is worn my ford did this to ima going to tell you its a real pain to change but go to dealer and ask for power seat guide bushing thats what ford calls it anyway mine was 45 bucks but i opted for the bearing upgrade rather than bushing as i never want to do it again lol good luck
The problem is probably due to some shims in the seat rails that have "dissolved". I have posted a video on YouTube that shows what I needed to do to repair my seat. http://youtu.be/sOjivYnXMAQ
