My 1988 chevy 2500 has been so reliable until it stated to stall.

My 1988 Chevy 2500 has been so reliable until it started to stall. I have parked it for almost a year now. Currently it will start and idle nice and smooth then suddenly like you flipped a switch it dies after a few minutes. Is this a fuel pump?

Could be. But more then likely it's the gas. The gas you get these days from the pumps will gunk up after around 30-40 days. I'ld change the fuel filter see if that works. If not you might have to take the tank out to clean off the pickup sock. It's a small filter type on the end of the fuel pump. Of course, you should do a pressure test to see first.

95 chevy silverado v8 it starts and runs fine in park but it stalls out as soon as i pit it in gear.

The first thing i would do is check the fuel pressure it should be 9-13 psi with key on and engine off.If its not within these specs then first change the fuel filter and if pressure is still low replace fuel pump.Let me know what you have.

My 88 chevy 2500 3/4 ton runs, but when given gas

check your fuel filter under the left side of the vehicle on the frame. if this proves to good, your next step might be checking your catalytic convertor. have you checked all of your vacuum lines? one thing you can do is have your friend inside to start the vehicle and while it is idling and the air cleaner is off, look inside at the fuel injector and you throttle it and see if the injector is spraying fuel.

Stalling

Chances are the fuel filter is bad, if not it's a fuel pressure problem.
