Removal & Installation

  1. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt.

    WARNING Never suddenly let go of the tensioned idler pulley. The force of the spring pressure suddenly released may damage the idler pulley mechanism. Always release the spring pressure gradually.

Rotate the belt tensioner to relieve tension on the belt—4.6L engine shown, others similar

To install:
  1. Route the belt over the pulleys making sure all the grooves in the pulleys and the belt line up correctly. Refer to the accessory belt routing section of this manual.
  2. Rotate belt tensioner clockwise and slip drive belt over idler pulley on tensioner.

Hi, Try this take the fan blade off and then put the belt on and then put the fan back on. Good luck.

How to change land rover freelander fan belt

You have to jack it up and remove the underboady engine cover. Lower the vehcile and open the hood remove the engine cover. Use the jack to support the engine for underneath. you'll need to remove or swing the top passenger side engine mount. back off the tensioner from the belt. Auto Zone, Advanced Auto rents a tool if needed. Now you can change your belt!

Changeing fan belts

fan bealt is easy to change all you need to do is right down how the belt runs befor you start and then loosen the alatanator and move it closer to loosen the belt then remove the belt around the fan and replace just like you wrote down then use a bar to tighten the belt by prying the altaator away from the motor but don't make it to tight then once tou have it as tight as you want tighten back the altanator and thats it
