Hyundai XG30, 1999, 62000km hello I am having misfire and engine has lack of power. I had the same codes P1191 and P1193 and had my throttle sensor changed but the problem is still there. I have one more strange problem. When I turn on AC and transmission is in Parking or Neutral mode the rpm is around 800 to 900 more like normal but as I come in Drive or Reverse mode engine starts bubbling and seems like it will shut down. CEL is off. Taking MAF connector off engine idle at around 1300, CEL on and seems like it got power. While pushing gas pedal it goes smoothly till 7000 what is not the same MAF connected. Had my pollution test which was all good and had the same values as it had in the beginning. I will appreciate help how should I proceed and what should I check for this problem. Thanks

So what did you do? I am having the exact same problems with an addition of the transmission switching to and staying in 3rd gear, unless I restart the engine. That can be very dangerous on the freeway. I also have the same AC problem. A code for the VSS also came on in addition to P1191/1193. I tried changing the VSS which seemed to do the trick, but the speedometer stopped working. I put the old VSS in and the speedometer is okay, but the other problems came back. Anybody have any other solutions.

O.K. fellows. I have read the information here and everywhere else. The Variable intake Motor is the problem in most of the cases I have read. The motor functions correctly it is the worm and gear that is the problem. This is all located on the opposite end of the intake manifold from the throttle valve. The gear is plastic the worm is metal. You guessed it as the car ages and the carbon deposits build at some point the six valves inside the manifold over load the plastic gear and strip out three or four teeth. The plastic gear is spring loaded which holds the six valves at about 50% open. When the car is idling the valves should close and when the throttle opens these valves open. The computer resets the fuel/air mix at idle and the when you take off several blocks later the fuel to air is wrong and the engine rebels. Now the bad news Hyundai doesn't sell a new gear part. They sell only the intake manifold section containing the six valves. The price $500.00 plus dollars. This is a reportable issue for the EPA. Which I plan to execute as soon as I find either the gear or manifold section in a junk yard and verify what I have written here.

I am had the same codes show up and they told me that it is the ets which is electronic throttle system module. They thought I had a broken wire in the ets but it was the electronic throttle system module itself which is the box that the wiring is connected to.

1191 and 1193 combined means your engine speed was below 470 rpm not the throttle sensor. Related components needs to be checked and develop a solution accordingly

SOURCE: Year 2001 XG300 P0115, P1159, P1191, P1193, P0115

P0115 - Engine Coolant Temp Sensr - open/short
P1159 - Variable Intake Motor Malfunction

P1191/P1193 Limp Home Valve - Low RPM

First, clean the throttle body and check for anything which might obstruct AIR FLOW to it.

The P1159 is the Variable Intake Motor Malfunction. this motor is either 'OPEN'... or 'CLOSED' position. It is located on/in the intake manifold (plenum) and is only opened when cruising... it is closed at idle. If it sticks 'OPEN' is can cause drivability issues.

2002 Hyundai XG350 Error Codes P1191, p1193 & P0446

Error codes P1191/P1193 are a paired code indicating the Electronic Throttle Sensor (ETS) had detected engine RPM's of less than 470, resulting in a potential "limp home" mode. Technical Service Bulletin #06-36-003 identified several differing possible causes, ranging from a faulty ETS -to- loose connectors -to- carbon buildup around the throttle body. Error codes P300/P302/P304 are misfire in cylinders 2 and 3. Have your fuel injection system cleaned out with a machine and replace your spark plugs. Error code P0455 indicates a large fuel vapor leak. This code can be caused by the following things:An actual fuel vapor leak, either through a hose or other damaged vapor system component, or via a loose, incorrectly installed, or missing fuel cap. A stuck closed purge control valve, which, during the self-test, will produce fuel tank pressure readings exactly the same as a vapor leak. A close valve that does not seal properly, allowing air to be sucked into the fuel vapor system during the self-test. Blockage in the line to the fuel tank pressure sensor, causing it to not see variations in tank pressure.

That is taken from Michael on fixya. I google the codes and that came up..

My daughter's 2001 Hyundai XG300 threw the P0171 and P0174 codes a couple weeks ago. While driving it myself, I noticed that the idle RPM was getting fairly low at time. After looking online about these,...

Most likely the Mass Air Flow sensor. I had a similar problem and the codes you have ring a bell. Follow the above link for more information.
Look on-line for the parts. I found one for around $70, but they are $320 at the parts stores.
It's easy to change
Best wishes!

Can someone help me with these Codes I got from a diagnostic? I have a Hyundai XG300. P1191 P0171 P0174 P1632 P1193 I know this is a lot to ask but there has to be a good mechanic out there to help me I...

Visit http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/ and
http://hyundai.wikia.com/wiki/OBD-II_Error_Codes
for the codes you have.

So the 171 and 174 indicate lean fuel/air, the 1191 and 1193 indicate the car is in limp home mode. And 1632 is a traction control issue.

The lean mixture might be as simple as a plugged fuel filter, or as complex as trouble with the injectors, the throttle position sensor, fuel pressure regulator, or fuel pump. How long since you replaced the fuel filter? If it has been close to or beyond the recommended interval this is a cheap ($20 for the part) and fairly easy thing to try.

The lean fuel/air could be the cause of the limp home mode.

The 1632 code is a traction control system malfunction. Could be an intermittent issue or occurred because the engine is operating erratically. With this code the car should still run fine, but the TCS won't work properly.

My car is xg300 Hyundai the code showing up are p01191 &p1193 , p0136, p0141 what are they will it cost me

Electronic Throttle System codes (P1191 & 1193), Limp Home mode & Low RPM (Detected RPM below 470). This is usually cause by either a sticking throttle plate or an intake air hose leak.

P0136 - O2 Sensor Malfunction (Bank 1, sensor 2), P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2). Either the sensor is broken, it's been unplugged, or the wiring has been damaged.

Emission system codes

P0421 - Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0171 - Fuel System Too Lean - (Bank 1)
P0446 - Canister Close Valve Malfunction
P1191/P1193 - Limp Home Valve - Low RPM
Before replacing the catalytic converter (bank 1 next to the firewall, Bank 2 is near the radiator), you'll want to verify it is bad (most likely is it sinse you also have a 'lean' code for Bank 1 - probably clogged). This can also cause misfires and engine stumble (low RPM) that's probably where the 1191/1193 occurred. The final DTC, P0446 - Canister Close Valve Malfunction, could be the valve itself, or the wiring between it and the PCM. Check the connector & pins for any damage/corrosion.

I need to details i received from engine codes: p0715 p0115 p01191 p01193

P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit (transmission related)
P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit (fuel/air mixture related)
P1191 is a manufacturer-specific code related to fuel/air mixtures, as is P1193 - those will have to come from Hyundai.
