We have an LS too. The window is not off track. Ford came up with some hokey cable & pulley system fo rthe windows, and they have some plastic parts incorporated, that break off. Nice. The repair is replacing the whole system in the door. Parts are close to a hundred bucks on-line plus shipping. The door panels have four screws at the bottom of the door panel, and two under the plastic cap, down in the inside door pull. Then you just have to pty the pannel off. It has a bunch of push in plastic connectors that are the primary fasteners for keeping the panels to the doors. That's about what I know so far. I opened mine up and unbolted the broken garbage ( cable system) from the window and lifted it up in the track and wedged it up with the rubber strip from a squeegee made for washing the car windows. I have not as yet aquired the new stuff to tear the door open again and swap in the new garbage.

remove all visable screws from panel and arm rest. Arm rest should come off. Use a flat thin tool or piece of metal and slip it between the panel and the metal door frame. Slip it in about 2 inches,. Slide it back or forth til you hit a stop. That should be a plastic pop in.twist metal tool to pull panel away from the door. It should pop away from door frame. Don't overdo it if it doesn't come out. try another spot. once you get one loose, you can tell how to get the others out. Once panel is loose push it upwards to get top lip out of window bottom. If it has power windows, disconnect plug. If it has manual windows, you will have to remove the window crank There is a snap ring behind window crank that has to be removed.push in on panel by window crank and you can see the ring.

On almost all GM's there will be a screw in the recess that the handle sits in. After removing this screw, gently wiggle this cup out of it's hole and there should be a metal rod attached to the back of it with a small clip. Unclip this and it's out - installation is the reverse. Just don't lose the clip or let the linkage rod fall down inside or you will have to remove the door panel. It shouldn't take five minutes to replace and most parts stores now carry GM door handle assemblies. Good Luck!

This is a problem that you should be able to fix. With the interior door panel there are 3 screws. 2 in the arm rest and 1 on the door handle(opener), take those out. There is a C-clip on the window crank that needs to be removed. They make a cheap little tool to remove those but I've heard people using a shop rag and removing the c clip. To remove it, turn crank to around 9 oclock then slide the tool or rag behind the crank also coming from 9 oclock. Any position will work, my point being the tool must slide in from behind the crank handle. Use a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the edges of the door panel away. There are some little clips that pop loose. It's okay if some break you can buy more. After that you will slide the door handle (opener) forward a little to pop out. Twist and turn the panel to get it over the door handle. There are 2 bolts that hold the handle on from the inside. They are 10 mm. You can reach the most forward one pretty easy but the back one is taken out through a hole in the metal door panel. Mine had a sticker over the hole with a big yellow dot on it. After that it takes some pretty good force to get the handle out of the hole. Don't be afraid to push on it. When it pops out take some wire cutters and cut the little plastic clip that holds the metal rod to the handle. The lock twists out of the hole. Now this is when you need 3 hands. Hold the new handle close to the opening and twist the lock into position. Don't attach the metal rod yet. Now actually put your key in the lock. This helps you hold the lock in the correct position while inserting the handle. Put the top of the handle in first and then the bottom should snap in next. Now from the inside, reach up and slide metal rod in the hole and rotate the plastic clip to secure it. Now the hardest thing is getting that back bolt in. It helps again to leave the key in the lock and rotate it so the bolt can secure the locking mechanism to the handle. Put the front bolt in reinstall the interior door panel and you should be in business. Good Luck
