You need to find someone who can pull the codes from the transmission and see what kind of trans fault it is. If there is a fault in the trans the controller will put it into limp in mode which is 2nd gear locked. Won't shift out of 2nd...You need to pull the codes and see if it is internal in the trans or an external sensor-Good Luck
1. Check resistance of the 2/4 solenoid circuit from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector.
2. Check the resistance between pins 16 and 19. May want to compare with another solenoid, such as between pins 16 and 20. Both should be about 2.0 to 3.0 ohms, not counting the resistance of the meter leads.
3. Verify that the White (WT) wire at pin 19 is not shorted to ground.
Solenoid codes are most often electrical problems in nature. The P0700 code in the PCM means that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) requested the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on.
1. Check the operation of the transmission relay.
2. Terminal 85 or 86 should be a ground.
3. Terminal 85 or 86 (the one that is not a ground) should get a brief pulse of voltage at key on.
4. Jumper terminal 30 to 87 and check for B+ at pin 16 of the Transmission Control Module (TCM) connector
