First, look at the direction the balancer turns. Remove the belts. Put the proper sized socket on the balancer bolt and, install a breaker bar into the socket. Make sure the bar is at the side of the engine compartment, where the top of the balancer rotates toward. Next, BUMP THE KEY but DO NOT crank the engine. When the bar contacts the wall or other object, it will stop, allowing the engine to continue and break the bolt loose.

Cant get my harmonic balancer off my 93 honda civic lx 1.5 liter

You need a harmonic balancer tool to remove this item. It is held on by a lock key. You can also very gently try and use a pry bar of some sort and slowly moving around in a circle pattern get it to come off.

How do i change the water pump which way does the pulley screw on the harmonic balancer turn in order to loosen the pulley?

You need a harmonic balancer puller to remove the harmonic balancer. Most auto parts stores that offer loaner tools will have one for you to use and they should have directions if you've never used one before. To replace a water pump, first drain your coolant, remove belt, unbolt and remove water pump, scrape old gasket material from block surface. Place your bolts into new pump, slide gaskets over bolts then attach to engine, reverse other steps, make sure to close radiator petcock (drain valve) fill with 50/50 coolant mixture and start your vehicle to make sure gaskets aren't leaking any coolant

I am unable to remove the bolt from the harmonic balancer for a Honda Accord LX 97 the bolt will not turn what else or how else can i get this off

If the problem is that the engine it turning when you try to turn the bolt, you can either use an electirc impact wrench, or put your wrench on the bolt, and brace the other end of the wrench against the frame of the car, or a block, or what ever. Then just turn the engine over a little with the key, and your bolt will loosen. The engine will turn clockwise, so place your wrench accordingly.

Honda accord ex 92

Crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) removal- disconnect neg battery cable, remove belts, it would be a good idea to soak the bolt w/ penetrating oil overnight, there is a special 'crankshaft pulley holding tool' available to secure the pulley while removing and installing the bolt. Some parts stores loan tools for free if u purchase parts from them, I don't know if this is available, but it would be worth checking out. Attach holding tool and remove bolt securing pulley. Carefully remove pulley from crankshaft, Do NOT pry off. Remove key from crankshaft sprocket,
Install: install key on crankshaft sprocket, slide pulley on, apply clean oil to bolt threads but NOT to washer contact surfaces, secure crankshaft w/ holding tool, tighten to 159 ft lbs (91-93 Accord), install belts, re-attach neg cable.

Harmonic balancer - honda 2.2 liter

hey
Remove the bolt in the crankshaft then use a puller to remove the rest of the balancer. Sometimes they come off without a puller.
