I have a 2003 Buick Century and the odometer light is dim at engine start. When I release the emergency brake the headlights come on, which is normal, but the odometer light goes very dim almost out completly. Is this a problem that involves the car computer in any way, or is this strickly a matter of the odometer light onl? If the problem involves the car computer, where is it located and how do i get at it ?
Did you turn the dimmer switch all the way up?
You need to remove the circuit board and replace 4 resistors.. It's really easy. This is if your shift indicator and odometer lights don't work. Just search using the above sentence there are several videos online that show this.
On the left of the steering wheel there is a nob.. turn it all the way right before the click, it will turn the lights brighter.. also if you pull the nob out, the headlights will turn on/off manually.

i'll check on your computer location. meanwhile it sounds like you may have a ground in the odometer light wiring. i'll try to find a wiring diagram.
