My right indicator on my 1.2 T reg renault clio

My right indicator on my renault clio has gone completely heywire. It sometimes works but then sometimes stops half way through indicating, I can sometimes turn it back on again but sometimes not. Sometimes the fog light on the dash board comes on and flashes at the same time as the indicator but sometimes not, I am not sure if the actual fog light is flashing. My friend was behind me in the car last night and said that when I break my right indicator light is coming on with the break light. Please help!

Hi, this sounds like you have a bad earth at the rear lights, remove both rear light clusters and check for any signs of corrosion, give all connections a clean and a little tweek, this should cure your problem

Renault Clio 1.2 Petrol T reg I have been having

It sounds as though the ground connection(s) to the rear lamps are suspect - this would seem a sensible place to begin along with ensuring the correct bulbs are fitted and the bulbholders and any internal lamp connections are in good order.

It is also worth checking the wires that pass from the body to the tailgate for internal breaks. It will be necessary to pull back the rubber boot.

If all is found good the trip to the auto electrician is likely...
