Always start with simple to more complicated. Bulbs are easy, wiring can become very complicated.

Since both lights went out, I'd actually check fuses first. And then bulbs. If fuse is blown, replace, and see if it blows again. If it blows again, then sadly, you may have a short in the wiring harness or switch causing the fuses to blow. Wnich gets back to the more complicated troubleshooting.

How do i fix the brake lights on my mercury sable. all the other lights work fine

Does your car have the `lamp out'indicator system? It's more complicated.
My manual shows fuse #28 , a 15 amp fuse powers the brake bulbs. Is this the one you changed?
A bulb can be out for a long time and you don't notice it,then the other burns out and you think they both went out at the same time, but they might not have, see?
So check the bulbs and make sure you got that brake switch installed correctly. don-ohio (:^)

My headlight went out after only 1 week after replacing it. Then my dash light went out on the left side. Could this be a wiring or fuse problem

if you touched the glass on the bulb with your fingers or hand in any way then the oil from skin would make the bulb burn out after a short period of time also some of these aftermarket bulbs are junk. i do not think in any way that you have any fuse or wiring problems.

My passenger head light went dim and i changed it to a brand new bulb already and it is still low

You got a bad ground connection somewhere.
You have a voltage drop, where you shouldn't have, and as a result the bulb is dim.
Check the bulb socket/connector and related wiring, to that head light

2002 Isuzu axiom cluster lights and tail lights out

Don't try a higher fuse , it just makes things worse by adding extra burn to the problem.. First make a test lamp with a 21w bulb ( indicator size) .You now have a bulb with two wires attached , insert the "test bulb" across where the fuse should be.
When you switch on the circuit concerned it will glow BRIGHT as it is getting a POS (+) and a NEG (-) ie blowing the fuse (short circuit) in the fuse box and therefore a BRIGHT bulb.
As you disconnect and eliminate or disturb the problem the bulb will immediately glow DULL ( in series contact now) and no longer a short circuit . As you check the circuits the illumination will change and, your on the money ! Let's know how you get on , Good luck

1980 el camino---brake problems

Fuse should be under dash on left side. Providing that there is power there and power at the signal switch (and bulbs are good) likely there is a problem in the signal switch.

02 Pathfinder back lights just died

Some times when you get a short circuit. It will burn out a tail light bulb. With the bulb burnt out you don’ have a complete circuit. First, replace you tail light bulbs. If that doesn’t work. Check to see if you have a ground wire come off.
