Hello, my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 190,000 miles with 155K on the transmission (was replaced at 35k by dealer due to an issue). My question is: I'm having some slipping or gears when coming to a stop and/or shifting from reverse to drive. Its not very bad, however, I have a friend who thought his Jeep trany was a gonner, put some transmission additive in and the problem virtually disappeared! I bought this product called SLICK 50 for auto transmission high mileage vehicles. Is this a good product to use or what would you suggest. Thanks in advance! Skye

Slick 50 is good but I would change the fluid and filter to start with. While the oil pan is off, see if there is any metal in the pan, indicating an internal problem. If not put it back together and see where you are at. Additives are useful but can't fix broken parts. I hope this helps.

It sounds like a loose serpentine belt. Check the belt for cracking or frayed edges. It may need to be replaced or simply tightened.
If the sound is minimal or gone when the engine is idling, and you hear it whine when you step on the gas, then the belt is probably your issue.

Likely the transmission is a bit worn and it's taking time to build enough pressure to actually drive the internal clutches together enough to make it go. If it was yours, I'd suggest that you try changing the fluid and filter and putting in some lucas additive for transmissions. But, since you are buying it, I'd recommend that you not do that unless the price is incredibly low, everything else is in really good condition and you keep in mind that it probably will be due for a trans rebuild in the near future!
On a 95, that may be more costly than the book value of the vehicle itself!!

Jeep grand cherokee transmission clunk

well then it sounds to me as if you need a transmission replacement...a flush or service at this point won't do you any good, as the transmission is using the contamination in the fluid to build pressure. so if you flush it all away, then the new fluid is way too thin to build any pressure...just replace your transmission....

Speedometer does not always work 95 cherokee orvis need help

Sounds like the speedo sensor needs to be replace on the transmission. I've had a similar problem with my Jeep with the sopeedo not working then work after the tranny heats up then after a period of time the needle started to jump when at 100 km or 60 mph. I changed the sensor and the problem went away. Good luck!

Cruise control accelerates after setting it

Most likely due to a problem with the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). You can try disconnecting (for about a minute) and reconnecting your battery which may reset this system and fix the problem. If not, you can bring your vehicle into the dealer, they will perform a diagnostics test for about $95 that will determine what the problem is. If it ends up being the PCM, it is covered under warranty for 8 years 80,000 miles.

Hope this helps.
