I can no longer program radio stations on My 2002 Montero Sport

I can no longer program radio stations on My 2002 Mitsubishi Montero Sport stereo. I ran my hand under the front of the consol (under the dash) and pulled out a male plug that was connected to something but now I can't find where it connects. The other end of the cable comes off the back of the radio. My radio/cd still works but 1.)the radio won't keep any stations set in memory, 2.)cd always goes back to first song, and 3.) radio is always off when starting the car(regardless of whether or not it was on prior to that). I took the radio out and searched for an hour but could not find where the plug would go. I expected to see an open female outlet that I could easily plug in to, but I found nothing. Any ideas on the location of the femail outlet where this connects?

I dont know what wire u unplugged for sure but sounds like it was the memory power source. is the radio after market or OEM if its after market It should be a yellow wire but as far as OEM goes i cant tell you which wire is memory but if you contact the dealer and speak with a tech they should be able to tell you or print off the schematics for your vehicle.

How to enter radio code for mitsubishi montero sport

Use the first 4 station preset keys on the front of the radio. Push the first key as many times as the number you want. For instance, if the first number of the code is "4", push the fist key 4 times. Same for the remaining three keys.
