Cooling fan vibrates and makes loud noise - 2003 Saturn ION

cooling whom or what?
you (cab blower) , the engine RAD, the front, condenser
try to point and say this fan here, makes noise.
a place, pretend the helper is totally blind,
or even use photos., (shock)

Better get to a shop before it overheats

either fan motor is going out ar broken fan wheel, or possibly loose fan motor.

You may need to remove the blower motor and check for debris in the box, or a failing bearing on the motor.

Have you changed the factory fitted fan before?

You may need to check the cooling fan and also get the dryer check by Aircon mechanic.
Faulty cooling fan destroy dryer. Just an advise

1. Could be a caught foreign object between A/C (air conditioning) fan and cooling radiator, producing this loud noise.
2. Could be a damaged fan blade, mowing the cooling radiator.
3. Could be a loud noise comming from the fan's electrical motor.
4. Could be a broken off fin (small wing) of the cooling radiator, striking the A/C fan, producing this loud noise.

Electric cooling fan bearing failed and the cooling fan needs to be replaced. Start with inspecting the cooling fan behind the radiator and determine if that is where the noise is coming from. Replace any worn or damaged parts.

its prob the cooling fan its located in a housing along with the radiator fan at the front of your engine bay look down when you open the hood . and make sure the fan is spinning run the ac on high and wait ( do this while the car is running of course ) . do not run your ac if the fan isnt working . you will burn up the compressor . the noise and vibrations you feel are from the compressor turning on and off.
now if the fan is working its prob the compressor. if all else fails take it to a mech where they can test it ... its not pricey and its quick
