When I turn the steering wheel the low trac light

When I turn the steering wheel with the car in park and sitting absolutely still the low trac light comes on. Also when I back up the trac off and the anti-lock light comes on. Just hope to find an answer to this problem.

The steering wheel position, wheel speed sensors, and ABS systems are all used to provide traction control. You likely have a failure of one or more systems. Scan the ABS system and it will provide codes to help the diagnosis. Wheel speed sensors fail often, and it is likely one or more of these is contributing to the problem.

Steering wheels makes vibration noise when turning wheel while in park

I'm thinking your power steering rack needs servicing! may be air in the hydraulic lines. did it start right after you replaced the pump? did you run the fluid resivour dry by any chance?

2001 monte carlo ss trac light is on how to solve

Trac Light is on to tell you that the traction is low. It senses this by "looking" at the wheel speeds. If one of the wheel speed sensors has failed, broke off, wire broken, or just dirty, the computer cannot "see" this wheel speed, and turns on the trac low light. This can also cause abnormal brake pad wear, if the car is equipt with traction control. The computer will begin to apply the brake on the wheel that is spinning faster. This will wear the pads out on the side that the computer is able to "see" the wheel speed. You need to get the sensors looked at. Check them to see if they are physically in place and the wires are hooked up.

Steering wheel stuck and key wont turn

One of the things is a lock-out switch on the brake pedal lever. Some are coordinated with the gearshift, the Keyswitch, and the starter Relay. Check to see if the brake lights work when you press on the brake pedal. If no signal is going to the brake lights, then there is a chance that the Park shift lever, the steering wheel and the Keyswitch are bound up.

Sometimes a steering wheel is at the extreme reach of the travel in the front suspension. This can sometimes happen in cold weather when the car is sitting on ice or snow. When the ice or snow melts, the front tires settle into a position that puts pressure on the steering wheel and loads Torque up the steering column. Another possibility is that the car was bumped in the Parking lot and jammed into a position creating Torque on the steering column.

Last, the tumbler inside the Keyswitch could have fallen apart and that is why the mechanism is not releasing the steering wheel.

There are adjustments in the Keyswitch to be at the correct position to work with the lockout at the bottom of the steering column.

2000 Grand Am, whining noise front end. Tires wear on outside, very loose steering, but stiff when having to cut the wheel. ABS, low trac light on all the time, new shocks, brakes, tie rod ends, hub...

Faulty power steering rack and pinion or low on power steering fluid causing the whining noise.Tire wear on the outside is usally worn out tie rod ends or front end. out of alinement. As for the ABS and trac light you will need to have the computer scaned.Could be faulty wheel speed sensor.

Low trac 2001 Buick Century

Your the first in 3 years to ask if you should park it

Very good question & best way to think

You can drive it until you check for codes
& then have the ABS Braking System diagnosed
as trac control is a near useless part of it.

May just have a bad Wheel Speed Sensor

Steering wheel getting locked up

I think it is a common problem that while the power steering relaxes and the tyres find a comfortable spot to sit on the road, after you've parked, the steering mechanism can push against the steering lock in the ignition switch. Usually the steering wheel needs a bit of a jiggle while you turn the key. If you were to engage park brake, release foot brake and let go of steering wheel before turning off ignition, it may settle better for you.
