My 95 olds was sitting for 120 days without it being started. when I went to start it, it would'nt turn over. I jumped it and she started , although it was a difficult start. Normally she turns right over.
I let her run for a half an hour (enough time?) and I started to drive her. She conked out on me and would not turn over at all. Everything was dead. When I jumped her again (another difficult start) she ran until i turned the lights on. Dead again. Battery is less than 2 years old. Any suggestions?

Won't start, totally dead

Check battery cable ends and cable connections for being tight. Turn on headlights and try moving/jiggling cable ends to see if headlights come on/flicker. If so, suspect poor connections at cable ends or poor cables/grounds

Why won't my 2001 Ford Explorer start???

If it didn't turn over, that sounds like a bad battery. You can test the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car. If the battery is bad the headlights will dim or go off.
If the headlights stay bright, the battery is ok. But this means there is a bad connection, so check the battery cables.
Hope this helps.

What causes the lights to stay on even after the car is shut off?

usually bad headlight relay, if that checks out ok then then contacts in headlight switch are bad and switch needs replaced

Why wont my car start

Possibly a battery cable terminal or the connection at the starter.
Sometimes a loose or faulty wire can barely work until a load is put on it then it just shuts down. Test power flow at starter before and after turning the key. Replace battery cable ends and if the problem persists, replace entire cable.

2003 Grand Jeep Cherokee will not start.

Could be a faulty starter or bad connection between the battery and starter. You could use a meter to check for voltage at the starter but it will not show resistance in the cables.

get a12 volt test light remove negitive cable from battery attach clip on test light to negitive cable removed from battery. touch other end of test light to negitive side of battery if light is on something in car is pulling power if light is off everything is turned off you can test this if light is off by turning on the headlights the test light should stay lit until you turn off headlight switch. If light is on when fistr connecting to battery turn every thing off in car or disconnect anything includeing trunk or under hood lights one at a time until test light is no longer lit. if this is not the problem load test battery.

Car cranked fine drove 80 miles shut off car went back to crank it would not do anything

Most likely battery related:
1. Clean battery terminals, remove the battery cables and clean the cable clamps and the battery posts. It may start now.
2. The negative cable, where it connects to the engine ground, is loose, corroded, damaged, or otherwise not making good ground contact.
3. Turn ON headlights and try to start engine. If there is a slight dimming or no dimming, the solenoid needs replacement (maybe the starter, too).
