2000 isuzu rodeo check engine light flashes when at or around 2500 rpm and up. engine runs smooth and no codes come up ? light goes out when rpm is reduced.

Check vacuum leak.

Since the spark plug is not coming in contact the engine light is flashing. Otherwise take your car to the nearest auto zone and check if any code is stored in the computer or not to get it fixed. However a flashing engine light means the ECU has detected a misfire strong enough to damage the catalyst in the cat.

try first to close the fuel return line if Ok replace fuel pump .most of this complain is fuel pump difective or fuel valve adjuster.

Check for leaking intake gasket.

Hi, there are a lot of things that could cause this behavior, so it would help us to diagnose your problem if you could get a scan of the OBD2 connector and send us the trouble code. If you live in the US you can usually get a free scan at your local parts chain.

That means there is a big problem whenever it flashes. You need to get it in and get the code asap. When it flashes, they call that a major issue. Be careful and go asap. Autozone checks for free but you probably need a mechanic.

Check the fuel pressure it could be the fuel pump or pressure regulator.

try disconnecting negative battery cable for 5 minutes or so.this allows computer to re-set.you'll have to re-set clock and radio presets.

the flashing service light is cat protection mode. check cat convertor and exhaust for blockages.
check vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator not leaking petrol into intake manifold by disconnecting while running.

on 98 and up 3.2 and 3.5 v6 engines the intake gaskets are plastic.....thy crack and the truck runs rough.....listen for hissing sound or a check engine light....p0171 lean.
