I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus sxt coupe with a Mitsubishi engine. My code reader said misfire in Cylinder 2.

P0302, see I now it, but is it only 1? DTC error?
2 engines , or where? and up to 5 world wide, NO VIN
Engines, Mitsu. no clue told.

V6 2.7L? (so says dodge.com USA> go this?
2.4 L EDZ I4 4G64 I4 DOHC and SOHC
2.4 L EDV/EDT turbo I4 (Mexico)
2.7 L EER V6 ) i GUESS THIS IF Usa CAR. has 6 COPS
Coup?:
2.4 L 4G64 I4
3.0 L 6G72 V6

my best guess USA is VIN K engine, no vin told so engine is UNKNOWN,

it means, this, only.
Low combustion on #2 cylinder, (spark, fuel injection or compression bad)#2
#1 is on crank pulley end. #4 is at transmission I4, F1234R
rear means tranny end. oK?
v6
all V engines 99% #1 is the bank V that is most forward cyl. of all.
to the crank pulley's
2nd is always 2nd in firing order, always, and PCM dictates it.

2.7l v6 24v ffv . dohc mpi engine.
firing order, 2.7L 1-2-3-4-5-6 even odd ;odd banks.

causes (v6 cops)
1: spark plug bad #2
2: spark coil bad, COP 2 dead? or weak or boot bad.
3: oil flooded inside the spark plug well, shorting all above out.
4: injector bad #2 (omg PCM, nah) swap 2 top find it;
5: compression fails #2
only 1 code told so answer is 100% based on 1 code only 302
6: rare bad cam lobe.
7: rare cracks in head , antifreeze leaks to #2 combustion chamber.
8: oil leaks to #2 via all classic ways.

audi code 16688 - cyl 4 misfire check spark plugs and coil packs and icms also if your valve covers have not been replace there could be oil in the cyl and made the spark plug go bad cyl4 is on the driver side first plug in front of the engine.same goes for 2.7T or 3.0bd0cdae7-e0f4-4cf3-8c0d-b26d1fc0b8c9.jpeg

Not running rough slight miss at idle

check plug gap .try a little hotter fire plug. sometimes the seals around the valve cover will let oil in around the spark plug causing it to misfire. as the 4 cyl engine has a coil pack and you cant see it till you remove it.

Valve body leak 2002 dodge stratus

A vertical cover...I had to ponder that a bit. Still not sure. The valve cover sits flat on top of the cylinder head, with a gasket between them. The cylinder head is where your spark plugs are threaded in. The valve cover rests on top of the cylinder head. It's about 14-18 inches long and about 4 inches high, kind of rounded over so the valves and valve train will fit underneath. A gasket leaking motor oil is very common there, as a lot of oil is directed there and then splashed around to lubricate the valve train. The oil is supposed to drain through engine passages on down to the oil sump- the bottom of engine where oil is kept in the oil pan.

So if you have an oil leak, and it turns out it is the valve cover that is leaking, it's an easy fix-one of the easiest gasket replacements there is.

My 1998 Dodge Stratus valve cover went out and there was oil everywhere. I replaced the valve cover gasket, new plugs and wires, now it will not start like it is not getting gas, it is not a relay as I...

If it was running fine, till you replace the valve cover gasket, then fuel pump and filter is not the trouble, check make sure all elec. wires are connected, ground wires also.

Oil is leaking out of the spark plug boot

there is a seal between the valve cover and the cylinder head. all you have to do is replace the valve cover gasket and spark plug hole seals, its not to bad of a job al the guys in my shop would be fighting over who gets to do it, have fun.

My car needs more oil every day !

first you should replace the pcv valve(positive crankcase ventilation) valve. it's probably around 5-10 dollars
located on top of valve cover

Oil leak

That is an overhead valve engine and there are seals around the tubes that surround the spark plugs and they tend to dry out and leak after awhile.

Recommend getting a valve cover gasket kit and replace the valve cover and Spark plug tube gromments

Oil leak

When you buy a valve cover set, those seals come in the set.
