2003 Nissan Murano hatch back door won't unlock or open. Glitchy for a long time, always opened eventually with a ritual of locking/unlocking using the remote/lock on the door, etc. Upon opening, wouldn't then latch when closing....mostly just annoying, never had it looked at. Finally stopped working altogether, now I have no ability to release or open the hatch door.

I have a 2004 Murano. I opened the small hatch and with a screw driver and someone on the outside managed to open the hatch. The problem appears to be bent pieces inside. After straightening them out and using a good silicon spray, mine works again. It should be lubricated quite frequently.

2012 Nissan Murano - rear hatch lock on door doesn't unlock. Fob works, dashboard switch works.

Question edited to correct spelling of model muramo > Murano
Question moved to year make model category.

It must be the switch that is behind the lever on the hatch itself, or linkage to the switch. Other ideas and fixes in the link

My Murano back doors will not lock or open at times with or without the the remote

I would think the door lock actuator motors are sticking, they are very lightly built little toys.

2005 nissan murano door lock

The Body Control Modual is not recieving a feed back from the passenger door lock confirming the unlock command and is therefore not energizing the rear hatch. There is no physical lock on the hatch - just yes or no for power from the BCM.

The entire lock kit is falling out on driver side Murano. The remote unlocks all but the driver door at times. Other times the door will not open and I am forced to use the key to manually unlock my driver...

Open drivers door, locate plastic plug on inside of door, near latch, across from door lock cylinder. Pop it out. There is a set screw that retains lock cylinder. Tighten set screw.

2003 Nissan Murano Driver door won't lock or unlock with keyfob

The key fob is the remote. But the remote type that works like a key. The remotes that you just need to carry on you to start the car or truck. That is a Key Fob.

Thanks Jay!
