I have only one ignition key and need a spare. The dealer price for a key ranges from $85 to $175, plus $15 programming fee. Can I get an ignition key that works cheaper than that?

Go get 2 non transponder keys cut at
the hardware store for 3 bucks each.
Get a universal bypass module (key-in-a-box style)
at www.REMOTESTARTCENTRAL.com for 25.00

Then wrap the coil around the key cylinder,
secured in place with hot-glue..connect the
status input wire to chassis ground and the
positive to ignition...no more transponder
key required. No dealership will program
a key to a non matching VIN ECM.
Besides, the total cost on this is
substantially less than what a dealership
would charge.
This is what will work instead of the dealerships
profit margin, and the rest of the security will still work other then the engine immobilize. Good luck and keep this in mind to think about it.

When replacing the ignition and key in a 01 mercury grand marquis can i use a ignition and key without a transponder

You must have chip keys. If you get 3 you can program a new one yourself. Call dealers and get prices and call locksmiths and get prices. Vary greatly.

I've lost my keys to my 2004 Chrysler Sebring. Is there anyway to starty car without it?

No. The key has a chip in it and no other key will work. You have two choices, both are expensive.

First is have your Sebring towed to your dealer, they will look up you VIN and cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

The second (and this may be a little cheaper) is to find a local locksmith in your area, that can cut Chrysler keys, to come to your car, cut two new keys and then program them to your car.

Can't offer an accurate price but I would imaging the dealer cost will be in the $300 range (plus towing). Need to call around and get prices.

Driver Side Mirror

You already talked to a dealer,a body shop & lock smith

You know no one wants to touch those mirrors

You said the body shop can't figure it out,yet you ask the question!

You compare the price of a new one verse a salvage yard part, plus painting

Why not call the mirror manufacturer & ask ? Their in china,so that
possibly is a no go

Lost set of keys, alarm was on car locked. Found spare key only, it will open door, alarm goes off, but the key won't start engine. It will turn in ignition, but dead! It's a Chevy HHR 2006! HELP

Close the doors. Lock the doors using the buttons on the key fob. Use the fob to again unlock the doors. The key should then work the ignition. If this will not work, you will have to tow your vehicle to the dealer and buy a new key and/or fob and have it programmed to the vehicle.

MY PT Cruiser Functional transmitter and the one to be programmed both have no "PANIC" Button . How I programme the spare Fob

If you don't have the Panic button then sorry, you can't program yourself, the dealer will have to program it to the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) module in the vehicle, using their DRB scan tool.
