Try changing the fuel lines, if they are cloged from debris that could be the cause.

Where is fuel pump relay switch located on a 94 gmc Sonoma. Cannot locate to test. Truck starts but as driving the is a click noise and shuts off. It restarts after a minute. Please help

Check in main fuse block with other relays. Should be labeled. Relay kicking out may be caused by overheating = bad fuel pump or dirty filter. Test fuel pressure too.

2002 gmc extended cab sonoma fuel pump replacement

Drop fuel tank, use brass drift and rubber hammer to unscrew retainer ring on top of tank. (Don't use anything that can cause a spark) Very carefully pull fuel pump and fuel level sensor out of tank.

Separate pump from unit and replace with the new pump. Wouldn't hurt to replace filter sock or filter if this model has one.

Carefully slip unit back into tank, replace seal and locking ring, ensuring it is tight.

If hoses and wires are long enough I check for proper operation before raising the tank all the way in place.

Once satisfied pump and fuel gage is working, replace tank in frame.

Where is the fuel filter on a 94 GMC Sonoma.

You will have to look under the vehicle for the fuel filter, look below the seating area on both sides, if that doesn't work locate the fuel tank and trace the fuel lines forward until you locate the fuel filter.

How to replace fuel filter?

if you can't find one, it might be that either it doesn't have one (as some cars) or it might be located inside of fuel pump assemply (inside fuel tank) but that's a longer story :)

Cold start problem

I should not drop more than 5 psi overnight, if it does it lets the fuel drain back to the tank, this causes long crank times because the pump has to refill the lines and filter before injectors get fuel.
