1. The fuel pump relay is in the electronics box at the passenger's side rear of the engine compartment. There should be a bracket extending across the e-box toward the front, with 2 or 3 relays attached to it.

2. The fuel pump relay will have 4 pins, and the following wires: Terminal 30 will have a Red wire with full-time battery power. Terminal 86 will have a Red/White wire with battery voltage form the main relay with ignition on or cranking. Terminal 85 will have a Brown/Green wire that is grounded by the Motronic control unit during cranking or running to actuate the relay. Terminal 87 will have a Green/Violet wire that is power output to the fuel pump. Jumps terminal 87 to power and see if pump runs or car starts. if so replace relay hope this helps........................

Your fuel had been sitting too long. It has lost its octane and if the temp and time was right gelled. You well need to get all the old fuel our of the tank and then clean out the lines. Or if your lucky enough you can just clean out the old gas from the tank and then fillup with high octane and add a substance called SEAFOAM. You can purchase it at Advanced Auto Parts. 1 years time i would try the seafoam method since its easier and if no luck then you can do the other method plus i would say you havn't gel yet. In the end your motor is fine and its just old gas :)

Why wont my 1998 gmc 3500 sierra turn over

Check for fuel by pouring small amount of clean gas down throttle body and crank engine over. if it starts and runs just for a few seconds you have a fuel delivery problem. If it still does not run after several attempts check for spark at spark plugs. that should get diagnosis started

Start not starting

it sounds like a fuel pump .remove the fuel inspection cap on the fuel rail at the top of the engine and make a pump presser check, must be around 45-65 psi, anything lower means a defected pump.another way
of checking a pump is banging on the fuel tank while having some body cranking the eng. if the eng fires up it means it is a pump.

Fuel draining from carbs when starting engine

These cars were never among my favourites unlike a ford cortina ,anyway they had a electric fuel pump and whats happened is the float closes a valve and these seats on later vehicles had rubber cone type seals and i wouldnt mind betting that someone has renewed the valves with later ones with a rubber cone tip and these have now perished ,if you was local i would sort it in minutes as these cars are so simple.

Have a 2002 Honda Civic that will turn over but will not crank,

check your owners manual for a fuel pump shut off switch if it has one, reset it, check for a blown fuse for the fuel pump, if that dosent work, check to make sure no wires got pinched in the bell housing between motor and transmisson.

99 jeep wrangler

This seems like a fuel pump or fuel filter prob. The pump more likely. Will it fire up with gas poured into the carb? If so the pump. If not, we will need to look for another prob. Don't buy parts you don't need! Frankster016
