Had blown bulbs in the instrument cluster of my 1985 s10 pulled them out but they had different color sockets, now some of the lights work and some don't and some lights that should not be on are on all the time. is there a color code to these light sockets
Yes,you need to replace them with the right colors to get them to match the board they go in.
The circut board is what makes up the instrument cluster and the printed circut that the lights connect to.
The lammenated flat wire is part of the board, but it does'nt matter you still need to match up the light to the same as the ones you removed.
I don't have a repair manual her with me so you need to put another question out and let someone else deal with it if they can,if thats not an option then contact me again in 2 days and i'll answer your question.

their not in boards they are twist in sockets and the cluster has a laminated flat wire backing. the sockets are small and the colors are green gray and black
