Question about 2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK

1 Answer

When I start my mercedes benz slk 200 from cold there is a rattle when I engage reverse gear which after 30 secs disappears. It is less apparent when driving forward from cold and lasts only about 10 seconds. Any thoughts on this? My local MB garage says that it may always do this without any harm resulting but I am not satisfied with that response.

Hi there.
It could be something not completely tight around the exhaust close to the engine.

I've just purchased a 2008 SLK 200. Does anyone know how to put the rear quarter windows up whilst top down.

I have a CLK 2001 and my rear window buttons just work normally when the roof is down. I can even raise a rear window without raising the front one.

Mercedes SLK wont start after battery replacement

If it starts and runs for about a half second or appears to run for that long then you probably just lost your key sync. Also happens when the remote battery dies on you. Look in your owners manual near the back or in the index for resyncing your key. It is easy to do and takes a few minutes or a few tries. Or you can spend about oh $200 for the Benz stealership to do it for you ;-]

I have a 1999 mercedes SLK the top had to be manually raised and now theres a terrible rattle. Any suggestions what it could be?

Depends how it was released to raise it. Sound like a pin was released and the attached piece is moving around.
