04 rodeo 3.5 di no power till full throttle

Your fuel pump may be bad. But have you checked the cam positioning sensor or map sensor. But one more thing, I would check the timing belts, if anything is one tooth off it will cause lots of problems. If you need parts. Look up Tom's Truck Parts on the internet. I have rebuilt 2 1995 Isuzu Rodeos and they have everything you may need.

2000 Isuzu rodeo , no compression, drivers side

Cam timing not correct on that bank. Veryify cam timing. Not sure if the engine is a "zero clearance" engine but, if so, the cam timing error may have bent some valves! Oh nooooo!

2003 Ford Expedition XLT 4X4 4.6L. 70,000 miles. Had a rough idle then stalled. Happened 4 times today. CEL reports a lean left bank. Just finished changing spark plugs and fuel filter. Plugs were fine....

Cam Phasers. There is an Extended Warranty for them. What happens is the Cam Phaser is suppose to automatically adjust each cylinder bank independently. When one of the Cam Phasers gums up, it can leave a Cam over-advanced.

An over-advanced Cam will be lean and generate a lean Code for that side of the engine. An engine with one bank operating at 1 timing setting and the 2nd bank operating at a different setting will run rough and stall before blowing up.

Ford has given a 7 Year, Limited mile Extended Warranty for those DOHC engines having this problem. This can be a costly repair of around $2400. A recently developed "Cheater Procedure" can cut Labor from 8 to 4 hours with savings in gaskets resulting in a $1200 to $1600 repair.

Your vehicle may develop a Diesel sound which fades at 2000RPM. So contact a Dealer with a VIN# and go from there.

I have a 2001 rodeo V6 standard. The check engine code is for mulitple missfires. Sometimes when you stop the rpm go down to zero and acts like it wants to die. Have tried taking off the coil packs one at...

whats your fuel pressure when this happens are there any O2 sensor codes also? or fuel trim codes?
if low is pump at fault? or is fuel filter blocked?
check fuel pressure regulator on rear of inlet manifold left side of car- pull off vacuum hose going to inlet manifold while engine is running to make sure fuel isnt leaking out of hose, might have to take of protecting bracket dont usually have to though.
what is your fuel quality like?(no water or contamination/stale fuel)
how many KM's what are plugs like or plug gaps?
and check is it burning oil? fouled plugs?

there was a problem with earth crimp in engine harness on left bank front section near injector that needs to be cleaned and soldred to repair or replace with new engine harness, its for O2 sensors, TPS, canister purge solenoid and IAC motor injectos also wires break in same harness on the front left head(rocker cover/cam box cover) while its running wiggle and pull on loom if engine starts to run rough or stumbles its probably wiring related.

dont disconnect coils wiring looms while engine running it can damage driver circuits in engine ECU!!!

so some things to look over hey.

How to set the time belt?

4 Cylinder diesel(4JX1) :
1 - Timing mark
2 - Cam pulley
3 - HP Oil pump pulley
4 - Tensioner pulley

suzman_0.jpg

6 Cylinder petrol:
Align crank(C) timing notch mark (1) to oil pump mark.
Align cam pulley(L+R) marks(3) to cylinder head marks
The cam belt has 3 marks, 2 lines and one mark that is actually a row of dots. Align the dots to the crank pulley groove mark(2) and align the other 2 lines to the cam pulley marks. Using a clothes peg to hold the belt to the cam pulleys works wonders to keep it in place while fitting. Please note the arrows on the belt and have them point in the direction of rotation - right to left side of engine
W - water pump pulley
I - Idler pulley
T - Tensioner pulley.

If for some reason you need to realign the cams on each bank :
Standing in front of the car and starting from YOUR left , looking at the cams you should see RE, RI, LI, LE on each of the camshafts.(R for right bank, L for left bank, I for intake and E for exhaust) Right bank camshafts are marked with one dot, left bank with 2 dots on the shaft itself. To align the camshafts to each other each cam shaft gear has a mark on it. Draw an imaginary line between the centre of the camshaft and the centre of the pulley. The alignment mark should be between the two along this imaginary line. The result will be that RI an RE will be at the top of each gear. The same with the left bank.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo Engine runs smooth but is not

My personal suggestion would be to go for these repair catalogs. I know this website www.reliable-store.com that i used to get manuals from, and they have all models online.
I also brought for my
1989 BMW, such old model, they had it and it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

Nned to know how to set the cam and engine timing

Start with crankshaft pulley. At the rear of the pulley is a notch. Align it with the mark on the oil pump.(No 2 piston is at TDC) There is also a groove on the pulley that needs to be aligned with the white dots on the cambelt. The lettering on the belt must be readable as viewed from the front of the vehicle.
(When seated in the vehicle the RH bank of the engine is on the RH side of the vehicle.Keep this in mind)
At the front of the camshaft pulley is a groove. Rotate the RH bank camshaft pulley to align this groove with the mark on the cylinder head cover. On the cambelt is a white line. This must also align with these marks. Do the same on the LH bank. To be sure the cams are now correctly aligned remove the cylinder head cover. On the camshaft drive gears the letters RI(Right intake) and RE(Right exhaust) will be at the top and readable for the RH bank. (For the LH bank it will be LI and LE) Reinstall the tensioner and rotate the crankshaft with a wrench to make sure there is no unintentional mechanical contact.

Trouble getting marks aligned on 2001 Izusu Rodeo

if its a 6VE1 engine you might want to remove rocker covers and put front lobes of camshafts in position shown in picture with cam gear timmed up at same point cam gear are 3:1 ratio

b76b855.jpglook closely at cam gears in pic to see front lobe positions for both banks
