The lights inside click off and on while all doors are shut and am driving. Already had 2 different door sensors installed in the back hatch by the dealership, and noticed not all of the screws were put back in on the panel of the back hatch. Is this where the sensors are? What else could be the potential problem?

You may want to have the wiring harness inspected. A major section under the fuse box(hood on 96 GC 4.0) may become chafed by a close proximity AC gas hose connector. My mechanic said it was slowly chewing at the harness. It caused me fuel pump problems, but your intermittant problem could be similar.

hi
i had the same priblem myself, its an easy fix if your any way handy.
the problem is the main power wire to the drivers door is broke or almost broke (due to switches working when door is closed) between the body off the car and the door you will find a rubber boot, slide the boot back from the car body side and you will find that the thick wire is broke due to the door opening and closing all the time. just add a small piece off cable the same gauge about 2inches (to allow movment in rubber boot) and solder both ends to join. that will solve your problem. ive fixed at least 5 off the jeeps with same problem. try it to see.

Check for a broken 12V+ or broken ground wire in the rubber boot that goes from the drivers door to the hinge pillar. Had this problem on mine and found both wires broken from years of flexing when door opened and closed. Don't try to splice the break, as the wire is too short and is also brittle. Run new (same guage) wire through the boot and splice inside the door and under the left side kick panel.
