Where are the door sensors located on the back hatch

The lights inside click off and on while all doors are shut and am driving. Already had 2 different door sensors installed in the back hatch by the dealership, and noticed not all of the screws were put back in on the panel of the back hatch. Is this where the sensors are? What else could be the potential problem?

You may want to have the wiring harness inspected. A major section under the fuse box(hood on 96 GC 4.0) may become chafed by a close proximity AC gas hose connector. My mechanic said it was slowly chewing at the harness. It caused me fuel pump problems, but your intermittant problem could be similar.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Cherokee Door Panel Electrical Issue

hi
i had the same priblem myself, its an easy fix if your any way handy.
the problem is the main power wire to the drivers door is broke or almost broke (due to switches working when door is closed) between the body off the car and the door you will find a rubber boot, slide the boot back from the car body side and you will find that the thick wire is broke due to the door opening and closing all the time. just add a small piece off cable the same gauge about 2inches (to allow movment in rubber boot) and solder both ends to join. that will solve your problem. ive fixed at least 5 off the jeeps with same problem. try it to see.

SOURCE: Dome light stays on, power windows don't work... 1999 Jeep

Check for a broken 12V+ or broken ground wire in the rubber boot that goes from the drivers door to the hinge pillar. Had this problem on mine and found both wires broken from years of flexing when door opened and closed. Don't try to splice the break, as the wire is too short and is also brittle. Run new (same guage) wire through the boot and splice inside the door and under the left side kick panel.

How can I remove the rear latch from the hatch door?

Solution: you need the valet key and there should be a way to open it from the inside -jeff ps please rate , i have had the same problem many times with my mercury villager. one thing i have found to work on more than one occasion is while it is closed, push the back hatch as if you were shutting it. hit the lock button ( either on remote or inside of van ). then push the handle out on the hatch to make sure it will catch all the way. unlock the doors and pull on the handle, the hatch should open with no problem. , if it is electronic check the fuses first. if not electric spray with WD-40 in key hole and around button

Dodge durango rear hatch

Sounds like the sensor inside the rear latch. Most vehicles don't use an actual door switch these days.

Where is the door switch at

The back hatch lever that you use to open the door, open the back hatch and hold the lever up. You'll see a yellow thing, sorry not sure the name of it. You need to spray this really well with WD40, its a liquid level that gets dirty from dirt kicking up from dumper. I had taken my van many many times as light stayed on forever, Ford could never fix it. After spraying the heck out of it, close the door and let it sit, it should drop and inside light should go off. It's not the slider. Good Luck.

How do I turn off the interior light and keep the back hatch open? We love going to the drive ends but the inside lighte wont turn off...

I do this almost daily, while working on or cleaning cars. Open drivers door, put key in ignition so that the chimes are dinging. Now, look at the latch on the open door, you can see a "U" shaped latch arm, using a screwdriver, pretend its the striker on the post, and push the latch arm back until it clicks twice. The dinging should stop, and the interior light will go off, just as if the door was closed. Now, if the latch on the rear hatch is similar, you should be able to "trick" it the same way.

Before you attempt to close the door(s) or the hatch, pull the handle as if you were opening it. The latch should pop back to it's "open" position. If not use the screwdriver to pull on it while pulling the handle. Do let me know if your now "IN THE DARK"!!

Car alarm went off reset went off again within 3 min had tomanual lock , dome light on while driving

it sounds like you have a door open that is why the light is on. it may not be a actual open door but a faulty door ajar switch. that would explain why the alarm keeps going off. i would start by opening and shutting all doors includingthe hood and hatch.
if that does not fix it-a gm dealer with a tech 2 scanner should be able to located which door ajar switch is bad.

take a closer look a the locking mechanism of the lock..if you see some wire or a single wire at the locking mechanism, then that is the door sensor of the trunk. it is mostly located at the latch where you close the trunk...

i hope i was able to help..
