  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube by loosening the retaining clamps, then tag and disconnect any hoses or tubes.
  3. Disengage the engine control sensor wiring connector from the mass air flow sensor.
  4. Remove the four retaining bolts, then carefully remove the sensor from the vehicle.
  5. Discard the mass air flow gasket.
To install:
  1. Position the mass air flow sensor with a new gasket onto the air cleaner cover.
  2. Install the four retaining bolts, then tighten them to 25 inch lbs. (3 Nm).
  3. Install the air cleaner outlet tube by aligning the white identification mark on the tube with the tube stop on the throttle body, then tighten the retaining clamps to 24-48 inch lbs. (2.7-5.4 Nm).
  4. Engage the engine control sensor wiring connector to the mass air flow sensor.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and check for vacuum leaks.

Location of radiator fan relay 1992 ford tempo gl

The radiator cooling fan relay in ford Tempo gl has been integrated into the CCRM (Constant Control Relay Module) this is the black box fixed to the left strut tower with the big cable harness on it.

This relay box is commanded by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) it´s linked to every sensor in the car. (It's located behind the fuse panel next to the steering column.

The PCM supervises various conditions, including the signal that the ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor sends and power up the Fan Relay into CCRM to activate the Cooling Fan.

I have a 1992 ford taurus...it started running rough then finally wouldnt start... i have put a master air flow sensor and a map sensor in it....it still won't start some mornings...any idea's?

Check all the vacuum lines and hoses. Also check the intake manifold and gasket for vacuum leaks. When you have a leak it will make a hissing sound. Let me know and we can go from there

My 1992 ford taurus gl dash lights wont come one when i turn on headlights

Check the Fuse to see if it is blown out and replace it. If the Fuse is fine then you will have to go into the dash and check the lights and hook ups.

1992 Ford Taurus with a 3.8l V6 the cooling fan

The Taurus has Two temp sensors. One for the dash, which is isolated, then one for the PCM, it also controls when the fan relay should actuate. Its a 2 wire sensor, just above the thermostat. If you remove the harness from that sensor, and the cooling fan comes on, at any temp, (should take 5- 10 seconds) then thats your fault.

MAP sensor

It actually has a MAF sensor (mass air flow) located in the air tube between air filter and throttle body.
