Having problems starting 99 Chevy blazer have to chycle fuel after running starts right up already changed fuel pump

First thing in the morning, key on engine off, did you check proper fuel pressure before you changed anything? Do you have proper fuel pressure after changing the pump?

Cycling the key several times before you crank it, helps to pressurize the fuel system. Also, if you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. There maybe some service bulletin regarding cleaning the fuel poppet valves. Hard start in the morning, starts fine rest of day. The cleaning procedure I saw, was a shop procedure.

Hard start cold, fine rest of day

I would be checking to see why there is power to the pump with the ignition off as this is a source to flat battery overnight.. May be a relay is still activated by a power source other than the ignition.

Are you saying the engine will not crank, or not start ?
If it won't crank, have you had the battery tested ? Is it draining power overnight ?

1. I have a Toyota AE91 Sprinter SE 1989 5E engine. Even driving at 80kph it DOES NOT engage the overdrive. What could be the problem. 2. In the morning it gets hard start, but starts OK for the rest...

The starting issue could be due to a bad battery. Hard starting in the morning is usually associated with the cold. Low temperatures, create hard starting/cranking for your battery.
You will see a CCA rating on your battery, in my 4wd it is 600CCA that means it has 600 Cold Cranking Amps. That means it is the amount of current my battery can provide at O deg F. Car manufacturers only use cheap standard duty batteries.

If it is a 4 speed automatic with a power/ecconomy button it won't engage overdrive. You put it in ecconomy for normal driving and power for towing.

You might find this Interesting. go to Edmonds.com and check out the Recalls and Complaints + Service Bulletins for that Blazer. I got lucky and was able to get rid of mine before a lot of it started But, I went through a LOT with it before that!

Hard to start

try to locate the fuel pressure regulator, and unplug the vacium hose going to it, if you smell or se fuel at all, that means the fuel pressure regulator is bad and need to be replaced
