The security light is on and the truck will not start. I changed the fuel pump and filter. Now the battery is dead. The sercurity light keeps flashing and will not turn off.

You need to find out what fault code is causing the security light to come on
that's why the vehicle will not start
repair that and the vehicle should start

How does anyone manage to fill the gas tank with water?
Who did all this work? Why didn't they leave the vehicle in running order?
Possibly needs the security system resetting after the battery was disconnected?
Turn the key back to the "Run" position. The security light will start to flash off and on. Keep the key in the "Run" position until the security light stops flashing. This usually takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Does it have a SECURITY system in it ?
Is the SECURITY Light on or Flashing Sparatickly ?

POSSIBLE - * MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow Sensor) has gone BAD causing car to start then shut back off . * Security has kicked in ( Due to changing stereo system or battery went dead or didn't have one on it for a little while .
FIXES - *Replace Mass Air Flow Sensor (in between the throttle and the air filter box) . * Take to Dealer and have computer Flashed/Reset if SECURITY is at Fault . I recommend the MAF sensor

Check the crankshaft position sensor, i have repaired 3 Jeeps (after the owner spent a lot of time and money replacing fuel pumps,TPS, and many other items) then got frustrated, brought it to me and within an hour it was running fine with a new CPS
THERE IS A FUEL PUMP DISENGAGE IN THE FRONT END THAT WILL DISABLE THE FUEL PUMP IN FRONT END ACCIDENTS, THIS PREVENTS THE FLOW OF GASOLINE , CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUAL TO FIND THE LOCATION, ALSO COULD BE A BUTTON IN THE REAR QUARTER PANELS INSIDE THE CAB
Turn the car on, dont try to start it, let it set ten minutes, turn it off dont take the key out. do this three times. on the third time turn it off then try to start. this will reset the security. Make sure you have everything turned off when you do this. as the battery will drain. It is a good idea to put the charger on the battery as you do this.
Either security chip in the ignition switch has failed or the security system has triggered. Try turning the key on and let the security light flash till it goes on steady. If it does not start, change ignition lock.
