Airbag light on or airbag light flashing? ... My 05 Elantra's air bag light flashes 5 or 6 times, then turns off and the Passenger Airbag Off light ...Missing: saturn vue
www.carcomplaints.com/Saturn/Vue/2007/seat...air_bags/air_bags.shtml The 2007 Saturn Vue has 50 NHTSA complaints for the air bags at 63389 miles ... I started my car and the drive side air bag light came on no blinking just on.
Actually I don't recommend car owners working on the air bag system. It can be very dangerous should one of the bags deploy by accident. Code 33 is for an open or high resistance on the passenger side bag circuit which could be several different components or the wiring harness.
YOUR VEHICLE HAS DETECTED A FAULT IN THE AIRBAG CIRCUIT IT WILL HAVE TO HAVE CODE RETRIEVAL DONE TO DETERMINE WHAT CAUSE LIGHT TO STAY ON,I URGE YOU TO DO THIS SOON AS WHEN AN AIRBAG SYSTEM HAS GIVEN A FAULT CODE AND TURNED ON THE LIGHT THE SYSTEM IS DIABLED AND WILL NOT PROVIDE PROTECTION IN ACCIDENT
I had the same issue wit my 2006 Hyunda Santa Fe air bag light staying on. I had the system scanned and it was the passenger bottom seat. It has sensors in the padding that monitor the weight on the seat. If it is over 40-60 pounds then in case of an accident the air bag will deploy. This is to protect children in case they are setting in the front seat. However if the wire sensors over time break and the circuit is open then the air bag light will stay on. The bottom seat is around $300 dollars not counting labor to replace.
Try this: 5. If “AIR BAG” warning lamp operates as [as I said before], turn ignition switch “OFF” to reset from Diagnosis mode 1. Turn ignition switch “ON”. 2. After
“AIR BAG” warning lamp lights for 7 seconds, [i.e. when it stops
running solid and starts flashing] turn ignition switch “OFF” within 1
second. [DO NOT SWITCH IT TO LOCK, SWITCH IT TO ACC] 3. Wait more than 3 seconds. 4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 two times. (Perform 3 times in total.) 5. Turn ignition switch “ON”. SRS is now in Diagnosis mode. Try
it a few times. If you can't get it to work, have someone else try. If
you STILL can't get it to work, check your battery voltage. It might be
low. In diagnosis mode, you're going to hope the light flashes
slowly. 2 seconds off, 3 seconds on, and repeats. If your light does
this, this means that the computer detected a previous error that
hasn't been erased. This is good. to User mode and to erase the memory of the malfunction. 6. Turn ignition switch “ON”. “AIR BAG” warning lamp operates in User mode. [it should stay on for 7 seconds, then go off, like normal.]
