Unless something in the steering wheel housing has broken yeah...last post has it. Your starter has been "welded" to the copper ring in the solinoid. You might get by with just smacking it with a hammer, but don't think it will not stay on next time.

Can my battery amps be causing my 2004 dodge status not to crank? Its abattery.

the cold cranking amps rating can be found on the battery sticker. the higher the number the better it is since amperage is the flow of current and will withstand longer battery use by all electrical and electronic components on a car. amperage of a battery is also affected by temperature so if the battery cca rating is low and you live in cold weather it will cause slow cranking. your starter is only as good as the voltage and amperage contained within your battery. so start with a good battery before condemning a starter.

2000 olds 3.5 Dohc. Changed fuel filter checked fuel pressure @40 lbs resting cranking 45 lbs When i try and start it in the morning indoors won't fire crank the key to acc then on then back to acc then...

Which is the problem, no fire, or no crank. No fire means to spark to engine, but engine turns over fine. No crank means engine won't turn over when key is turned. I'm assuming engine will not turn over. Three most common problems. 1. Weak battery (get tested at auto parts store). Will hold charge for short time once started, but loses it when sits overnight. 2. Bad starter. Possible but not likely, still not out of the question. 3. Bad battery cables. This is an easy test. Take a pair of jumper cables and bypass the battery cables by connecting black side of jumper cable to "-" of battery and block of engine, and red of jumper cables to "+" of battery and (tap) Battery terminal post on starter...engine should turn over. Ensure you take all safety precautions to prevent car from moving during this procedure. Best of luck resolving this problem.

2005 Jeep Liberty, does not re- start, does not crank, no solenoid click.

From your description it seems as if the relay is bad or else the battery is shorting out inside and needs to be replaced. I would change the relay to start.

We changed the battery in the 97 lumina and now the MFG alarm system is in a mode where we cannot get the car to start

Disconnect negative battery cable. With key still turned on hook the cable back up. Try starting car. If that doesn't work turn key on for ten minutes. Than try cranking it. Turn it on and off three different times with the ten minute intervals. After that if car doesn't start than leave the key on for thirty minutes than try cranking it. This should work.

Car will not turn over with key.battery is good lights stay on when trying to start.could it be my starter?

is the security light flashing? If so try turning the key on for ten minutes than try to crank the engine. Try this three times if no start turn the key on for thirty minutes than try cranking the engine. It should turn over if not You may need a new ignition switch. Or key. I need more info after you try this.

Engine won't start. Dash lights flash rapidly when key turned.

the battery says 12 volts but may be dropping to 4 or 5 under a load...i would suggest jumpstarting the car and see what happens.the battery should read in the high 12 volts and not less than 9.5 under cranking. the dash lights go out on your car when starting, and the alarm will go off ,and disable the ignition if the voltage is too low in cranking the car because the computer will shut it down and activate the anti theft.....check your battery posts are tight. best of luck
