Are you one of those people who TOP OFF the tank when filling up?

When the EVAP recovery system soak with few ounce of gasoline......the trap vapor will take few days escape.

EVAP system is design to handle fuel vapor. Few ounce of gasoline can damage the fuel vapor recovery relay and decrease the service live of the recovery lines.

=========

You can accelerate the process by locating the charcoal canister (near the nose of the car and same side as your gas filler door)

MOVE the car to outdoor.

Disconnect the EVAP line and let it air out by itself.

DO NOT introduce any heat source or fan to speed up the process.

Reconnect this EVAP hose and use a small amount of starting fluid at the intake manifold.

Mostl likely you have already approached the problem.....yes fuel filters can restrict fuel flow and will cause it to do what its doing now but try to treat you gas often with gas treatment to avoid several problems

I have a 2001 Camaro V6 3.8L that stalled on the highway a few days ago. The car stalls almost instantly after starting, ive actually got it to run for about 20 secs a few times but still stalls. Plugs...

When you turn the ignition to on you should here the fuel pump run. If you aren't hearing it then it sure sounds like the pump. Assuming nothing has happened to the car to affect electrical connections. I don't think there is a fuse for the pump but worth checking also.

Camaro

The fuel filter should be changed yes , if you have never had it done or do not know if it has been done. The problem nay be a crank position sensor and or tps sensor or the camshaft position sensor. If you can pick up an automotive diagnostic scanner and scan for codes. Even tho there is no light on , it still may be an issue. Thank you , Quinn Texada

1990 camaro was bought 3 weeks ago has a

I believe it is electrical, and someone,
1.Has tried to bypass the use of the correct ignition key,
2.Or a fusible link for the starter is blown.

Does the ignition key have a chip on the side of it? The 1990 Camaro uses an ignition key with a resistor on the side of it. (Chip)

I had a guy install a radio, cut many wires, then wired it up wrong.
I found fusible links in the engine compartment that were blown, and wires that weren't hooked up correctly.
Took a couple of days, plus the wiring schematic for the engine compartment, and interior, to figure out what he had done!

My suggestion would be to find out if the ignition key fits THAT car first. (Dealer info)
Find out if it's the correct steering column.
Then look under the engine compartment to check out the starter wiring. You'll need 1990 Camaro wiring diagrams.

The prior owner bypassed the ignition switch with that push button momentary switch, because either/or a fusible link has melted through, or it is the wrong ignition key. (And maybe a different steering column complete with key switch!)

The 'Chip' on the key is a resistor, and THE correct resistance is needed to bypass the theft deterrent system.

96 z 28 wont start

The Alt is okay but the battery won't keep a charge? Replace the battery. At least take it to an auto parts store, and have them do a load test.

Your fuel pump is electric. When you turn the key on it pumps up. After it has developed the needed pressure, it no longer pumps, hence you won't hear it working anymore.

Diagnose your problem going through the various systems. Right now you have a problem with the starting system. It sounds like, from your explanation, that the battery is bad.
If your battery checks out, and then you have the alternator checked out, you have an electrical drain. This may be tough to find.

After you replace your battery, wait 10 minutes, then try to start your Camaro. If it doesn't start, (Key to the Off position), take the Positive battery cable loose. Wait 2 minutes, then reconnect it. You are resetting the computer.

Whats the reason

sounds like the alternator isnt charging the battery... The starter is also possible if its not even trying though. One other possibility, is one of the battery cables may have loosened up.
