Codes under P0700 are P0765 and P0760, do this require transmission replacment or can they be isolated and repaired this is for a 2001 pt cruiser, automactic trans with overdrive.

Can you tell me what the codes PO605 and PO700 are? PT Cruiser 2001

P0605-------- Internal control module read only memory (ROM) Error
Have the computor checked.
P0700-------- Transmission control system
Better take it to a transmission shop and have that checked so they can pinpoint the problem.

My 2002 pt cruiser check engine light came on today i took it to auto zone they hooked up a computer and it came back with 2 codes wrong a p0700 and a p0740 what does this mean and is it expensive to fix

P0700 simply means there is a fault code present in the transmission module (TCM). P0740 Torque converter clutch circuit. This is usually caused by a worn out torque converter clutch which would involve replacing the torque converter and yes it would be expensive to repair if that is the cause. Diagnosis is usually made with a scanner and other equipment.

I have a 2001 hyundai santa fe recently the car has stalled when shifting into gears, the engine light is on and the codes p0755 p0760 p0765, from my research on this site I was told that this could be an...

P0755 - Underdrive Solenoid Valve Circuit - Open or Short(GND
P0765 - Overdrive Solenoid Valve Circuit - Open or Short(GND
P0760 - Second Solenoid Valve Circuit - Open or Short(GND

Tell me, did the dealership inform you that your vehicle did NOT have an electrical problem? If they did, they lied!

Each of these trouble codes IDENTIFY an ELECTRICAL issue, whether it's in the wiring harness (outside or inside the transmission). Let's suppose the solenoids are 'ACTUALLY' bad, shorted/open - OK.... THEY CAN BE REPLACED!

Provided you have told me "all they did was pull up the codes and tell me I need a new transmission for $2175.00" is true - THEY LIED!

You can look up the repair procedure yourself on www.hmaservice.com and register your vehicle by VIN #. You then have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. you can even type in the codes (Under Detail Search) and select the "Inspection/Repair" procedures and see what THEY DIDN'T do/tell you.

2001 pt cruiser engine light code P0700/ p1284

well p0700 is a transmission code and the related repair on alldat is a error in tcm module! sounds like a bad computer but i couldn't say unless i tested it myself! sorry for lack of info and the other code was not in the list but there was a 1294 and that is a "target idle not reached" so i would be looking at the throttle body and clean it and make sure nothing is binding and aso vacume leaks throught the motor! good luck

My car's check engine codes are p1723, p0740, p0715, p0720, p0750, p0755, p0760, p0765, p1529. the last five codes will not erase. I just had the transmission rebuilt, so do I need a new computer? Or did I...

All of the codes are related to the transmission. Some indicate the input speed sensor. I'd bring it back to the transmission shop and tell them to deal with it. I don't know what your car was doing before you had the transmission replaced so it's hard to tell whether the repair was needed but since it was done, the problem should be the transmission shops, not yours. Best of luck and please post back, would love to hear how you make out. Greg
