I have a 2005 dodge neon sxt, in the morning when I start it up I hear a loud knocking noise from the engine but after about 15 seconds it gets softer but is still there all day when I'm driving around.

Usually engine will jack up to replace mounts its can cause some damages on exhaust system while they working on really high temputures specially older cars easy to get cracks and leaks and get loud after that
get your exhaust check up

the p0325 code pertains to a knock censor. the p0340 is for your cam shaft sensor. i've had this problem before. try replacing the cam shaft censor first and run the codes again to see if the other still comes up. it should fix the problem. hope this helps

It could be a vacuum leak but could also be a number of other thing's . Having the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified repair shop with the proper diagnostic procedures and equipment would be the way to go . Not guessing an replacing parts. That can be costly .

code p 0340 refers to camshaft position sensor(CMP) sensor A bank 1---circuit malfunction===causes ---wiring---CMP sensor ECM
have the CMP sensor checked / replaced
when you are checking the sensor , turn the engine over and if the camshaft is turning , it is not a timing belt
However if the engine has not had a timing belt changed (requirement at 60K miles) It would be a good move to have it done as it is well over due and will fail soon

Get the engine mounts checked. A bad mount may allow part of the engine to lie on a body or frame part, allowing engine vibrations to become very loud. Torquing of the engine (under load) can cause the same type problems.

I had the same problem with a Saturn I had and I would check the motor mount. If its coming loose it can damage a lot of other things costing more than what you would need.

This is probably a bent pushrod or warped head or something of that sort. SERIOUS problems. Take it to a mechanic. Knocking of any sort is a bad, BAD sign. Good luck.

not good. u should check with a mechanic. might be a rod knock, if your lucky just a lifter. If it was ran real low on oil its probably very serious and should get checked asap.
