the tcc code comes when the computer doesn't see the torque converter locking up,so it blames the solenoid which there are two of,but it is usually the converter it's self.a transmission shop can verify it for you.the solenoids are in the tranny

The tcc solenoids are in the transmission, but the computer sees that the torque converter didn't lock up,so it blames the solenoid in charge of doing that,
but you will probably find the converter is going bad,a tranny shop will be able to verify which is not working.

Where is the TCC solenoid located on a 1997 dodge ram 1500

we it can be more than one cause.
bad TC (slips too much locked )
bad TC solenoid on TC or pump.
bad TCC relay(if present)
or bad PCM/TCM
the service manual covers all this, pay them like I must do too.
the problem is both electrical or pure hydraulics

Loss of power, transmission issues

code p0700 refers to transmission control system/MIL --malfunction===causes --wiring ---TCM (1)
code po740 refers to torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid--circuit malfunction===causes--wiring--TCC solenoid--ECM/TCM (transmission control module) (again)
code p0871 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor C -range/ performance problem==causes---wiring--poor connection--TFP sensor--ECM /TCM (yet again)
code p0734 refers to gear 3 ratio (po374 is gear ratio 4) incorrect ratio===causes --wiring--TR sensor/switch--shift solenoids--transmission mechanical fault (causes are the same for po733&734)
code po846 refers to transmission fluid pressure (TFP) sensor B-range/ performance problem===causes ---wiring--poor connection--TFP sensor--ECM/TCM (again). Give the clutch a miss as you still have 1st gear and if the clutch is not working you will not be going any where. Have a pressure test done on the transmission to check for internal mechanical failures (pump ). The rest are sensors are wiring connections , sensor and TCM. My bet is the TCM unit. Have it checked out. What ever you do treat any suggestion of a new transmission with a grain of salt until you are shown proof positive that you need one.

Code p-0700 / p-0740 how to clear code

To clear the codes is the easy part, you can use a scan tool or remove the battery neg terminal for 5 mins but the codes will come back.

the PO700 is a code that tells you there is a ****** code which is the PO740 code. the PO740 code means the TCC circuit has a problem. this could mean there is a bad tcc solenoid or wire to tcc.

I would have this problem checked out asap. these vans have a lot of problems with the transmissions . your problem may be as simple as a solenoid pack problem. these vans with transmission problems can get costly, having it checked now would be wise. if you had a scan tool to get all ****** switches and solenoid value readings i would be able to help you check it but a ****** shop can check it with in an hour. good day.

2002 Sunfire TCC Solenoid replacement

hi..the transaxle converter clutch . tcc. uses a solenoid -operated valve located in the automatic transaxle to mechanically couple the engine flywheel to the output shaft of the transmission through the torque converter.that reduces the slippage loss in the converter.reducing emissions.but check the vss first.which is called the vehicle speed sensor.they both work together .if the vss is not working right it wont call on the tcc.
check this out..
thank u..
