Truck will not start. it cranks but will not start. i was driving and came to a stop light, truck sputtered and cut off. i put it in park and started it again, it ran for 10 yards and cut off again. after that it would not start anymore.

Sputtering is usually a sign of having a fuel issue. You need to hook a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and confirm that you have at least 40# of pressure at the rail.

I would try pouring in a can of 'Seafoam' available at your auto parts store. It cleans the inside of the carbs/injectors.

Does the starter engage again when you go back to park ?
Shifting from park to drive would cut the circuit from the key switch to the starter. The neutral safety switch prevents you from cranking the engine in drive or reverse.
I would say the key switch is not turning off power to the starter when you go from start to run.

Bad news....if you ran low on oil, the car likely sustained engine damage and will need major engine repair/replacement.

Have you tried cleaning the battery terminals? I know it sounds crazy but it cold be the problem.

maybe your fuel filter is clogged could be vacum line

dirty throttle body, check air filter.

This sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Was the filter plugged?

sound like you O2 sensor is foulded up sneding a bad signalto your computor making it load up on the gas & air flows. Try putting some SEAFOAM in to your gas tank to help clean your O2-sensor up. You and pick this up a Wal-Mart & and autoparts store.
